Position Purpose: The Membership Accounting Representative I will be answering incoming queue calls from employer groups and brokers regarding delinquent accounts. Using various applications to verify payments received and quoting balances due.

  • Allocates routine employer group payments and reviews unapplied cash report for guidance.
  • Assists more senior Representatives with researching and resolving problems involving membership exceptions, dues allocation, and billing, to learn accounting procedures.
  • Applies payments and reconciles balances monthly to maintain client account financial integrity.
  • Assists with audits of employer group accounts.
  • Handles internal and external inquiries concerning billings, rates, and members.
  • Provides assistance to Eligibility Representative staff with shared accounts.

Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. One-year accounting experience within HMO/Health Care industry preferred, or one-year relevant experience. HMO/health care experience.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in answering calls in a queue environment

Accounting and Billing experience

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

Problem solving skills

Pay Range: $15.58 - $26.73 per hour
