The Manager, Referral Administration for the VA is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the VA’s referral process, ensuring timely, efficient, and patient-centered transitions of care. This role involves coordinating with healthcare providers, streamlining workflows, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards to enhance patient access and continuity of care. This role will collaborate with various departments, including patient access, sales, revenue cycle and regional leadership, to optimize workflows to enhance productivity and timely patient access to healthcare products and services as well as positive patient interactions.

Your Impact:
  • Manage supervisors and specialists responsible for the referral administration process for the VA
  • Develop direct reports to ensure they have the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities to effectively perform their role.
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end VA referral process, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
  • Develop and implement best practices, workflows, and standard operating procedures to improve referral turnaround times and patient experience.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between VA and healthcare providers to facilitate seamless referrals.
  • Monitor referral metrics, identify trends, and implement process improvements based on data-driven insights.
  • Ensure that all referral procedures comply with VA regulations and policies.
  • Utilize electronic health records (EHR) and referral management software to track and streamline referrals.
  • Lead and train referral specialists and administrative staff to maintain high standards of service and efficiency.
  • Ensure that patients receive timely care by addressing delays and resolving issues in the referral process.
  • Foster a patient-centered culture and promote excellence in patient experience.
  • Ensure staffing decisions and staff development actions support operational success.
Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Degree in healthcare management preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations management within a healthcare setting to include a minimum of 3 years of experience hiring, supervising, training, and coaching others is required.
  • Knowledge of processes related to hospital system environments.
  • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Remote: Pay range of $75,000- $100,000 salary range + bonus + benefits. This pay range is posted to comply with wage transparency laws. Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables.
