Job description

The Appointment Setting Team Lead is responsible for driving and optimizing the outbound sales process by leading the appointment-setting team and personally generating leads. This individual will collaborate closely with the Business Development Manager to strategize outreach, refine target market metrics, and develop effective sales scripts. Additionally, they will actively engage in lead generation activities while coaching and mentoring their team to ensure high performance, continuous improvement, and goal achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead Generation & Prospecting:

  • Actively source and generate leads through various outbound sales methods, including cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn prospecting, and other engagement channels.
  • Qualify leads based on predefined criteria and ensure they meet the standards for high-quality appointments.
  • Identify new outreach channels and strategies to improve lead acquisition and engagement rates.

2. Strategy & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Business Development Manager to develop and refine outreach strategies that maximize conversion rates.
  • Analyze market trends and prospect data to adjust target market metrics for more effective prospecting.
  • Continuously improve lead qualification processes to enhance the efficiency of the sales funnel.

3. Team Leadership & Coaching:

  • Lead, mentor, and coach appointment setters, helping them improve their prospecting, objection handling, and conversion skills.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to ensure the team is skilled in lead generation, outreach techniques, and CRM usage.
  • Monitor individual and team performance, provide feedback, and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
  • Foster a positive, high-energy, and results-driven team culture, ensuring motivation and accountability.

4. Sales Scripts & Messaging Development:

  • Develop and refine sales scripts (spiels) for appointment setters to enhance engagement and conversion success.
  • Test different messaging approaches and adjust scripts based on prospect responses and conversion rates.
  • Train the team on how to personalize outreach while maintaining a structured and scalable approach.

5. Performance Management & Optimization:

  • Set and track KPIs and metrics for both personal and team performance, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Analyze team performance, appointment conversion rates, and outreach effectiveness to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement data-driven adjustments to outreach strategies, scripts, and lead qualification criteria.

6. CRM & Process Efficiency:

  • Ensure the team properly utilizes the CRM to maintain accurate records of prospect interactions and lead statuses.
  • Develop structured workflows and best practices for outreach, follow-ups, and lead nurturing.
  • Continuously optimize processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in lead generation and appointment setting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in appointment setting, sales development, or lead generation, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong B2B outbound sales expertise, including cold calling, email outreach, and social selling.
  • Experience in coaching and managing teams to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, persuasion, and script-writing skills for outbound sales.
  • Ability to generate leads independently while mentoring and driving team performance.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate and adjust target market metrics and outreach strategies.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and sales engagement platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, etc.).
  • Results-driven, highly organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in outsourcing, BPO, or service-based sales is a plus.
  • Familiarity with multichannel prospecting, including LinkedIn, email marketing, and networking.
  • Knowledge of sales psychology and objection-handling techniques.
