Job Description:

Levitate Media is looking for an experienced and motivated remote, full-time, contract, Video Editor to join our dynamic, growing team. Based in Bogotá, Colombia, and working from 8-5 CT, this individual will be responsible for creating and executing the video editing component of our clients' projects. This includes taking raw footage from our production team and turning it into a polished final product that tells a compelling story. On all projects, you will be paired with a dedicated Production Manager from the team who will lead you through the process of production. The Production Manager handles all client communication, allowing you to focus on what you do best!

Responsibilities:

Brainstorm and propose narrative edits in line with a client’s goals and vision
Create paper edits from transcriptions
Edit video footage to create compelling, cohesive content in a variety of formats
Ensure consistency and relevancy to the production's original vision
Gather and transfer all forms of media into editing software, reviewing raw material to determine the best narrative
Provide technical oversight to each project with color correction, versioning, encoding, and delivery
Pick up existing projects and make edits as necessary
Animate light motion graphics (title cards, lower thirds, on screen text, etc.)
Contribute to the evolution of our editing standards and practices to stay at the forefront of the industry

Qualifications:

Fluent in written and spoken English with professional written, verbal, and communication skills to collaborate effectively with a creative team
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere
Ability to work under tight deadlines and on multiple projects simultaneously
High-speed/fiber internet access
5+ years experience as a video editor
Agency experience preferred
Motion graphics skills preferred
Color correction skills preferred
Ability to work alone, with little supervision
Ability to accept and implement feedback from clients and producers
Must be self-motivated team player, professional, detail-oriented, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong understanding of post-production process, including color grading and sound design

Benefits:

Salary of $1500 USD /mo
A $100 USD reimbursement for phone and internet expenses
10 paid public holidays (US or Colombian) with 10 paid business days
Monday to Friday, 8-5 CT schedule
