Job description

Responsibilities

The Director, Loan Servicing is responsible for providing leadership, direction and managing all aspects of Loan Servicing Administration including but not limited to:

  • Cashiering management including clearing and disbursement account balancing, corporate advance management, default cash processing, and credit bureau reporting.
  • Investor reporting and remittance.
  • Escrow administration including escrow analysis, private mortgage Insurance management, hazard insurance and loss draft management and related vendor oversight and property tax management.
  • Special loans management including Lien release, MERS administration compliance/audit responses, construction loan disbursements and roll overs, collateral management, documentation imaging..
  • Perfection of titles and security interests, timely production of mortgage modification recordings, discharges on all real estate loans serviced directly by the company, maintaining task-tracking systems to monitor various servicing functions as needed.

In partnership with the VP of Loan Servicing and Customer Care, this position acts as the liaison for company, and applicable investor institution/governmental agency, ensuring that following duties are performed, per requirements.

This role provides enhanced focus on meeting current and future federal and state compliance regulations and assists in identifying, developing and implementing process improvement efficiencies and innovation.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, evaluate and develop an engaged and knowledgeable personnel that understands our commitment to provide a higher level of service to customers and colleagues.
  • Manages all aspects of the Mortgage Servicing Department to ensure efficient and compliant operation in conforming with federal, state and internal regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the effective implementation of department procedures and processes through subordinate staff to ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and objectives as well as regulatory and mortgage investor requirements.
  • Prepare, implement, and manage department time studies and staffing plan to be consistent with overall strategic plan.
  • Work closely with Compliance and department managers to ensure associates are kept up to date on procedural, technical, regulatory, investor or functional changes.
  • Accountable for external and internal audit reviews for all areas.
  • Expert knowledge of all investor rules and requirements for the Mortgage investor portfolio.
  • Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the company’s various loan products, offerings, and General Ledger System functionality. Keep abreast of new software system features, research usefulness and implement updates when appropriate. Participate in all aspects of loan data conversions.
  • Help research various additional vendors, as needed.
  • Develop long-term operational plan and objectives for assigned areas. Continuously seek out process improvement and innovation.
  • Develop a team, which works in concert with Funding, Processing, Post Closing Department / Accounting/ Third Party Vendors to ensure effective and accurate performance of all core loan servicing operational functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities Required For Position

  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations including: GLBA, RESPA, Flood Regulations, RegZ, SCRA, required.
  • 5 – 7 years of recent experience managing mortgage loan servicing; specifically in Insurance, Operations, Tax & Escrow, Special Loans, Investor Accounting & Cashiering, required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience with Agency/GSE Servicing, Investor Reporting and Cash Management (FNMA, FHLMC, VA, USDA, etc), required. 7-10 years’ experience directly managing a team of five or more manager level direct reports; including but not limited to performance reviews, performance management, associate conflict, mentoring and coaching, required.
  • Experience with Black Knight/MSP servicing software required.
  • Strong organizational, planning and project management skills with a history of successful project planning and subsequent execution of plans.
  • Collaborative and consultative workstyle; ability to work with multiple departments/ leaders to achieve collective goals.
