Job description

Are you an experienced project manager who approaches problems with empathy, creativity, and curiosity? Do you love creating and implementing processes and managing large cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, high-impact work environment? Are you driven to change the standard of care in women’s health?

The Lactation Network is hiring a Senior Operations Project Manager. This position will be responsible for developing and executing processes and project plans for cross-functional operational projects, partnering with stakeholders across the organization, including Product/Tech, Finance, Compliance/Legal, Marketing, RCM, Lactation Consultant Relations, and Commercial. You will report to the PMO Director.

We are a small, tight-knit, purpose-driven organization with big growth goals in 2025 and beyond. We don’t have all the answers and we don’t expect you to, either. We do expect you to be curious, hardworking, and striving to be your best self.

Breakdown of the role

  • Project Management (60%) This role will be responsible for managing large-scale cross-functional initiatives, assigning them to the proper parties, tracking progress, and helping the team deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • System + Process Implementation (40%) You will proactively and consistently conceive, define, and develop process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity across the organization.

What you’ll do

Create and manage projects from kickoff to completion

  • You will create, develop and execute plans for operational projects, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines while managing and supervising projects from beginning to end.
  • Work closely with project managers and stakeholders across the organization to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Process implementation, documentation and training

  • Creating, implementing, and tracking multiple cross-functional reviews and approvals within workflows in our project management system (Asana) is a key focus for this role.
  • You will partner with project managers and stakeholders to develop and document processes to build out the PMO function to remove silos and increase efficiency.

What we expect from you

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • 5+ years of project management experience and effective process creation
  • Experience managing projects across teams while seeing the “big picture”
  • Experience implementing a RACI or DACI with multiple stakeholders
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by adhering to all relevant legal, financial, and industry-specific regulations, maintaining best practices, and mitigating risks in operational processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management tools, such as Asana or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform work and achieve goals in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Demonstrated self-starter; strong skills in taking initiative, organization, standing alone, flexing when needed, and dealing with ambiguity
  • A strong relationship builder
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to influence and build consensus
  • Extremely organized with close attention to detail

What we’d also love to see

  • Experience in digital health, healthcare wellness/benefits, or insurance is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in high-growth organizations

What you can expect from us

  • Unlimited PTO. We work hard. We’re passionate about what we’re building together. We also have lives outside work.

  • 401(k) with 4% employer match. We’re planning for the future—and we want to help you do the same.
  • Remote-first culture. We are a distributed, remote-first team. We also like spending time together in our Chicago office and have a flexible in-office culture for those who wish to return to work in-person.
  • Mindfulness and Meditation App. You’ll have complimentary access to the leading app for meditations, sleep stories, and other wellness resources.
  • Recharge. We have one designated “no meeting day” each week so you can take a break from videoconferencing and have some quiet time to focus.
  • Professional development. We invest in our team by offering every employee access to a professional development budget.
  • Competitive compensation. We’re looking for top talent.
