Responsibilities
Position Overview:
Come enjoy a summer internship with a small but mighty design/visualization team at Pella Corporation while being part of the Pella Summer Intern Program. Pella DesignWorks offers a design service to that stretches across the nation to PDSN branches where the team visualizes Pella products on real photos for sales reps and homeowners in the retail, trade and commercial space with the goal of landing the sale. In addition to designs, the program offers design inspired lunch and learns, newsletters, on site design events and branch level training that is created collaboratively together. Daily, the Pella Design Intern works from a design queue in a project management software and may work directly with the sales rep from inspiration to providing renderings, revisions, as well as be exposed to marketing and activities around activating usage and engagement at branch level.
This intern position will continually strive to go above and beyond for the branch as well as the homeowner. The DesignWorks program is always green and growing and excited to see where new technologies and AI will take the service next. Work collaboratively with your new design team on establishing best practices, creating marketing opportunities, identifying opportunities to extend the design services to better service the PDSN’s design needs as the newest DesignPro. Design, software and product training provided for the right candidate.
The primary purpose of this position is to:
- Process design requests from the project queue utilizing web based proprietary software and Adobe PhotoShop
- Collaborate with internal design team on current design needs and trends
- Identify ways to optimize design process from start-to-finish
- Identify, understand and communicate metrics pertaining to design leads and conversions to sale
Skills/Knowledge
- Design skills/training preferably in the exterior residential realm

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Pursuing bachelor’s degree (BA or BFA) from four-year college or university – Communications, Design, Marketing majors preferred.
- Interest and coursework in design field preferred.
- Creative, collaborative, and energetic approach to problem-solving.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and well organized.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Some experience using design software preferred, not required (Adobe Creative Suite, Auto-CAD, Revit, Sketchup, 3DS Max, etc.)
