Shift: Mon 9a-5:30p, Tue-Thu 1:30p-5:30p, Fri 8:30a-5p.

Compensation: $18.32+

Hours Per Week: 28

The Scheduling Specialist will coordinate the scheduling, referral management, registration, prior authorization, and insurance verification processes for patients entering the UnityPoint Health – Meriter system via the Central Scheduling Department. They will identify and handle customer needs, providing exceptional customer service in a timely and efficient manner while working in a remote team environment. They will screen and update established patient information for accuracy, and schedule procedures according to procedure description. They will work closely with clinical department staff to schedule procedures based on departmental scheduling protocols. This position is fast paced and requires the ability to multi-task with attention to detail.

*This position is primarily remote but will require 6-8 weeks of in-person orientation at the Meriter Business Center, 2650 Novation Parkway, Madison WI*

Qualifications Include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Proficiency with keyboarding
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of insurance terminology and verification using various websites/software
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of scheduling and registration requirements
  • Knowledge of general MS office systems including Outlook, Word and Excel
