What You’ll Do
Seeks out new opportunities for dedicated contract carrier services. Manages relationships with current and potential customers.
Meets with key clients to assist sales rep with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
Develops and maintains relationships with current and prospective customers based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, purchasing contacts, or other sources.
Travels regularly within the specified geographic area to call upon regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sasles representatives.
Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares contracts for orders obtained.
Estimates delivery dates to customers based on knowledge of USX delivery routes, schedules, and policies.
Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist sales department in promoting sales.
Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential leads, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Represents company at trade association meetings to promote truckload transportation services.
Monitors and evaluates activities and internal service offerings as compared to those of our competitors.
Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
Directs the entry of new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
Controls expenditures of functional area to conform to budgetary requirements.
Acts as liaison between sales department and other-sales related units such as customer service and operations.
Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
Works with customer service to keep account activities and literature up-to-date.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
Education
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ direct experience required in Sales for Truckload Transportation carriers.
Minimum of 2 years’ territorial management experience preferred.
Skills/Certifications
Negotiating, Leadership, Interpersonal, and Short and Long-term Thinking/Planning skills
