Job description

The Operations Directorate comprises of four divisions and is the largest across the FSA. We have a diverse remit, being responsible for the delivery of official controls in FSA approved meat establishments, undertaking milk hygiene inspections, and ensuring the application of EU wine regulations in England and Wales.

The Operational Assurance & Excellence division provides oversight across many aspects of Operational delivery; approving and auditing meat establishments, leading on our Animal Welfare Action Plan, managing our key contracts and service level agreements, and delivering modernisation projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our regulatory activity.

This post is a key role within the newly established Operational Excellence function which drives efficiencies and improves outcomes across the directorate. You will be responsible for establishing and leading a systematic, cross-Operational approach to data management, quality assurance and technical data reporting and insights, working closely with central corporate teams such as the Openness, Data and Digital directorate. This will include oversight of the design and development of quality assured KPIs.

You will be responsible for establishing a multi-disciplinary team and setting strategic direction to ensure development of a consistent, high-quality, and efficient approach across the directorate.

Working with the Head of Operational Excellence and the leadership team, this role will also support the development and direction of the Operational Excellence Hub.
