Career Specialist (Independent Contractor)

About Us: VetJobs and Military Spouse Jobs are dedicated to supporting military-affiliated job seekers by providing professional career readiness and job placement services.

Position Overview: The Career Specialist collaborates with key organizational staff to support job seekers registered in our program, focusing on job placement and career progression.

Responsibilities

• Provide career readiness and job placement assistance in line with proprietary procedures.
• Assist with resume development, interview techniques, and job search strategies.
• Evaluate applicants’ marketability and communicate viable job opportunities or career pathways.
• Help job seekers with LinkedIn® and social media self-marketing.
• Advise on resume classes and other career development modules to enhance employability.
• Work with other departments to connect applicants with open career and training opportunities.
• Maintain a caseload as per program requirements.
• Receive new candidates daily (Monday to Friday, except company holidays).
• Maintain detailed applicant records while adhering to data privacy protocols.
• Report on a minimum of 26 job placements quarterly.
• Attend scheduled conference calls.
• Complete annual program-specific PII and technology training.
• Work independently while achieving required outcomes.
• Maintain professional communication with employers, job seekers, team members, and management.
• Complete all tasks thoroughly and meet deadlines, including but not limited to invoices, reports, meeting requirements, and any other necessary documentation or communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in Human Resources, Workforce Development, Career Counseling, or Employment Placement preferred.
• College degree or equivalent experience.
• Excellent computer navigation skills.
• Experience with G Suite is a plus.
• Must be military-affiliated.

This is an Independent Contractor position.
