Job description

We’re looking for a seasoned AI, strategy and operations professional who has experience in the property & casualty space (homeowners, renters, car, or pet insurance) to help us redefine the way compliance and risk processes are performed and delivered at Lemonade.


In this role, you'll help build automated solutions to existing compliance processes, working hand-in-hand with compliance and insurance leaders to identify opportunities to scale, automate, and improve. You’ll also help develop forward looking metrics for senior leadership and business partners to better understand how we’re doing and where we need to improve. This role will work closely with a number of teams and department heads, including: Insurance operations, agency, claims, and product— all in support of Lemonade’s continuous compliance and growth as the company continues to grow.


In this role you’ll

  • Become a Lemonade owner and expert for all things related to the world of regulatory compliance and risk
  • Leverage AI to the fullest potential, working closely with the teams responsible for market conduct exams, formal complaints, and licensing to help automate and create efficiencies within manual processes
  • Create automated testing scripts to help broaden the impact and effectiveness of the Compliance Testing & Monitoring team
  • Collaborate with our legal, compliance, risk and audit teams to identify opportunities for streamlined reporting, metrics, and assessments on the overall control environment
  • Work directly with regulators to resolve any issues that arise during market conduct exams, with a focus on creating automated solutions and responses that will provide a holistic resolution to the issue
  • Work with other compliance team members to develop best practices, identify efficiency gains, and create scale as the company targets significant growth


What you’ll need

  • 7+ years of risk, compliance, or Audit experience in the US personal lines insurance space
  • 5+ years leveraging AI and/or RPA to build testing and automated solutions
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Technical familiarity with the insurance policy lifecycle and the unique challenges of state regulatory environments
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and testing practices
  • Masterful at all things G-Suite and Slack
  • Enthusiasm about learning and adapting to the exciting world of AI – a commitment to exploring this field is a fundamental part of our culture
  • Ability to work remotely

Lemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000- $140,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
