By joining our rapidly growing Private Equity practice you will serve as a trusted partner to our clients. You’ll bring your first-hand experience, unique perspectives, and functional knowledge to deliver tailored integrated solutions that help our clients solve today's challenges and set the foundation for future success. With support from experienced leaders and a dedicated coach, you will join a collaborative community that invites you to contribute beyond the scope of client delivery.

In today’s competitive deal market, Private Equity is increasingly turning to operational enhancements as a driver for value creation in their investment portfolio. It is essential for Private Equity funds to have a portfolio support team, either internally or externally, to guide CFOs as they build a scalable accounting and finance function that supports the investment thesis. We are experienced operators, who serve as an extension of leading Private Equity sponsors to drive meaningful and sustainable operational changes across their portfolios.

Sponsor-backed healthcare organizations face unique challenges such as sub-optimal revenue cycle management processes, misalignment between organizational stakeholders (finance, clinical management, providers), manual FP&A infrastructure, and technology limitations. Our dedicated healthcare team leverages deep sectors-specific qualifications and capabilities to accelerate time-to-value for these complex sponsor-backed healthcare organizations.

What You'll Do:
  • Serve the “Office of the CFO” at private equity healthcare portfolio companies, creating a diagnostic framework and enhancing the effectiveness of the finance function.
  • Lead parts of the implementation of a portfolio support capability, including the development of bottoms-up annual budgets and forecasts utilizing key healthcare industry operational drivers and metrics (net revenue realization, net realization rate, reimbursement rate changes, cash collection velocity, provider productivity and compensation, etc.).
  • Assist with the preparation of financial management reports (i) by relevant levels of disaggregation (e.g., clinic/practice, specialty, procedure groups, business unit, payer groups, etc.), (ii) across a variety of key metrics (e.g., volumes, payer concentration, provider and support headcount, etc.) and (iii) comparing current actual and year-to-date performance with prior year results, forecasts, and budgeted results.
  • Assess the current state of finance subfunctions (e.g., revenue cycle management) and build or modify analytical resources, tools, models, metrics, and methodologies to address existing gaps and inefficiencies. Examples include automated and robust revenue waterfall models and physician compensation models to enhance decision-making support.
  • Review and assist with cash management including the development of monthly and 13-week cash flow forecasts.
  • Effectively transition solutions back to private equity portfolio companies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with portfolio company representatives, collaborating with CrossCountry team members to scope, clarify, and deliver excellent client service.
  • Mentor team members by coaching colleagues and help project teams resolve multi-faceted issues.

  • What You'll Bring:
  • 5+ years’ experience in either (i) FP&A preferably in a Private Equity backed company OR (ii) a client-facing role at an advisory firm (e.g., restructuring, performance improvement, investment banking, due diligence).
  • Healthcare industry experience preferably including the following:
  • Significant knowledge of the healthcare industry with experience serving healthcare service organizations (hospitals, multi-site/specialty practices, management service organizations, health plans, risk-bearing care delivery models, healthcare IT and care coordination, pharmacy, and other healthcare enablement services)
  • Experience with advanced revenue cycle analytics and modeling (hindsight analysis, cash “waterfall” models, zero-balance analysis)
  • Consistent success in building and developing strong client relationships.
  • Experience conversing with Controller group and accounting team, including fluent knowledge of the main elements and drivers of revenue recognition, income statements, balance sheet and statement of cash flow.
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills with experience building complex financial models for analysis and forecasting, with ability to summarize key data into executive dashboards.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel (e.g., advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.) and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and related tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, SQL) a plus.
  • Experience helping project teams resolve multi-faceted issues.
  • Healthcare M&A transaction experience is a plus (investment banking, financial due diligence, operational due diligence)

  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%; travel varies based on client preferences.
