Location: U.S.-based remote (see location requirements below), Canada

Fundamental to this iniƟaƟve is establishing strong relaƟonships with stakeholders around the world to expand professional exchanges globally.
The Program Manager, Scholar is responsible for all aspects of the Scholar program. The Program Manager will lead all sales, marketing, and program development initiatives, and provide program level oversight as it relates to efficient application processing, high standards of compliance, consistent policy application and impeccable customer service. This role will build relationships with all program participants, host organizations, Immigration Attorneys, university contacts, international representatives, and internal teams to drive effective business processes and maintain strong, client-focused relationships with existing and new accounts.



What you’ll do:

  • Oversee all aspects of the Scholar program to support timely and highly compliant processing of applications.
  • Manage all sales efforts to increase program participation.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for deeper relationships with host organizations, international representatives, immigration attorneys, university departments, etc.
  • Develop, track, and report program metrics, OKR’s, and KPIs.
  • Compile and maintain reporting including financial planning and forecasting.
  • Provide support for escalated participant cases in a timely and effective manner.
  • Review program applications for compliance with CIEE program guidelines and U.S. Department of State Regulations, as needed.
  • Foster a continual improvement environment, utilizing process improvement methodologies to improve efficiencies and scalability.
  • Create training documents and training programs for the Scholar program.
  • Represent CIEE, Professional Exchanges and other CIEE programs as needed internally and externally


What you’ll bring:


  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in program management, preferably with sales and/or business development.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of staff management experience required.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of J1 Visa a plus .
  • Experience with process improvement and technology adoption. Strong interpersonal skills – a team player and a self-starter who is able to exercise sound judgement across various issues and multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including phone, in person, via email) .
  • Strong account management skills 
  • Ability to work autonomously and plan for and manager multiple projects and priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility and interest in a dynamic, team-oriented working environment and ability to change priorities quickly.
  • Travel or experience in an international setting and living/studying abroad experience preferred.
  • Ability to work some holidays and business closure days may be required.

The position is available to candidates in the Canada and United States, except for candidates residing in:
