Job Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning
- Defines objectives, frameworks, and metrics for the technology strategic planning process and establishes ownership and timelines for key planning steps
- Leads and manages the creation or review of technology strategy which aligns with enterprise strategy
- Conducts meetings with senior technology leaders and key stakeholders across the organization to validate EI&T’s understanding of business goals and effectively communicate the EI&T strategy
- Establishes and manages effective relationships between business partners and EI&T leaders
- Manages the technology strategy and planning and communications with teams to ensure a high standard of performance
Transformation/Modernization
- Collaborates with EI&T and other business leaders to build, execute and monitor the EI&T Transformation
- Contributes to and oversees the investment strategy for EI&T transformation initiatives
- Works with other EI&T leaders to define an EI&T operating model to take advantage of automation opportunities
- Identifies, defines and hires for emerging roles in EI&T to support modernization
- Fosters digital dexterity in EI&T staff by facilitating training, networking and upskilling opportunities
- Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and digital opportunities, assesses their business value and works to embed them into EI&T and business unit strategies
- Creates a change management strategy to communicate and manage changes in roles, responsibilities and the organizational structure of the EI&T function
- Ensures the effective implementation of Agile strategies
- Drives innovation and the adoption on new technologies (such as AI)
Talent and Workforce Strategy
- Leads the creation of a technology workforce strategy, including the analysis of trends and business strategy to forecast critical skills, emerging skills and resource gaps
- Supports the development of technology leaders who are able to build strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to move the business towards digitally enabled growth
- Works with the Talent and Training organization to oversee planning and implementation of technology management training initiatives, technical skills analysis and job description updates
- Develops performance metrics and oversees monthly reviews with the technology leadership team
Strategy Execution
- Works with business unit leaders to develop project and program resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for projects and day-to-day operational activities
- Works with the enterprise architecture function to ensure alignment between enterprise architectural roadmaps, business strategies, enterprise transformation activities and compliance standards
- Ensures continuous alignment of project investments and initiatives with business strategy based on changing functional needs, resource capacity constraints, risk exposure, and interdependencies
- Takes responsibility for special projects and other initiatives on behalf of the CIO
- Oversees the development of appropriate governance frameworks and mechanisms for effective risk management
- Reviews management processes (and decisions) to ensure compliance with the organization's strategy for corporate governance of information.
- Influences sourcing strategy and ensures effective management of vendors and sourcing relationships
Governance
- Collaborate with Procurement to drive vendor sourcing decisions
- Define and enforce SLA’s
- Ensure appropriate mechanisms are in place to manage audits and compliance activity
- Ensure robust risk management mechanisms are in place for security, business continuity, and disaster recovery
Financial Management
- Develop and manage the organization’s budget
- Provide transparency and actively manage costs
- Measure benefits of EI&T investments and ensure EI&T investments are aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives and deliver measurable value
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, IT or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or related professional work experience; Master’s degree preferred
- 15+ years of experience in IT
- 10+ years of experience in team leadership and development
- Extensive financial acumen
- Thorough understanding of Agile principles
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels
- Ability to effectively drive business, culture, and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment
- Expert in EI&T strategic planning, communications, and financial management
- Expert in EI&T governance formulation and organizational change management
- Proven track record of innovation, both in internal problem solving and in fostering innovative uses of technology in the organization
- Strong customer and user experience focus
