Ameresco is currently looking for an Electrical Project Engineer.

Driven by a high-caliber workforce, Ameresco is a leading clean technology integrator and renewable asset developer, owner and operator.  Our comprehensive services include energy efficiency, infrastructure upgrades, asset sustainability and renewable energy solutions throughout North America and Europe. Our renewable energy assets and customer projects have delivered a cumulative carbon offset equivalent to over 60 million metric tons of carbon dioxide since going public in 2010. 

Responsibilities:

  • Working autonomously on multiple projects given broad objectives from Regional Director and/or Manager of Electrical Engineering
  • Audit existing electrical systems and prepare technical write-ups documenting existing conditions for design briefs and studies.
  • Commission electrical systems in cooperation with manufacturers’ representatives to ensure equipment operation as per manufacturer’s recommendations, related codes and standards, and design intent.
  • Provide technical support to internal departments including Operations & Maintenance and Business Development.
  • Prepare technical specifications for RFQs and construction tenders
  • Carry out the analysis of electrical power distribution systems relative to proposed load changes, and complete detailed design of electrical modifications.
  • Develop conceptual design strategies, assess, and complete detailed electrical design of green energy generation systems such as solar, wind, and battery storage, including interconnections with building and utility grid infrastructure.
  • Prepare and coordinate Connection Impact Assessment submissions.
  • Preparing operations and maintenance manuals
  • Providing training to customer staff regarding the improvements made to the facilities/systems
  • Work and present information professionally to customers as necessary
  • Other responsibilities as required by direct manager or Director of Engineering 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering Degree
  • 5 to 10 years of electrical engineering experience

Additional Qualifications:

  • Provincial Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng)
  • Knowledgeable on low, medium or high voltage and building electrical systems; knowledge of instrumentation and measurement equipment
  • AutoCAD and MS Office programs including proficiency with Excel
  • Excellent English proficiency both verbal and written
