As our Senior DevOps Engineer (all genders), you will own the DevOps topic, have the chance to build your dream infrastructure, and will be the smartest person in the room on anything DevOps-related.

  • Infrastructure Management: Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, high-availability infrastructure using Docker and Ansible.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and enforce best practices for IaC, configuration management, and security.
  • CI/CD Automation: Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD to ensure seamless automated deployments.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices across infrastructure and applications, ensuring GDPR compliance and adherence to regulations.
  • Task Automation: Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively suggest and implement enhancements to systems, processes, and workflows.
  • Architectural Collaboration: Participate in architectural discussions, offering insights from both development and DevOps perspectives.
  • Development: Support your own work with backend development (PHP)
  • Database Management: Work with MySQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and data migrations.

Requirements

  • Experience: Min. 6 years of experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Infrastructure as a Code (IaC): Experience with IaC tools such as (but not limited to) Terraform or Pulumi
  • Cloud Platforms: Strong understanding of AWS (or Azure or Google Cloud...)
  • Linux: Expertise in Linux system administration and shell scripting.
  • Web Hosting: Strong experience configuring and managing Apache, Nginx, and HAProxy for web hosting and load balancing.
  • Monitoring: Proficient in monitoring tools like Nagios, Icinga and Grafana to ensure system health and preemptively address issues.
  • Networking: Deep knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing) in secure, scalable environments.
  • Security: Awareness of security best practices, particularly when handling sensitive healthcare data.
  • Performance Monitoring: Experience with New Relic for application performance monitoring and optimization.
  • Ansible: Solid experience with using Ansible for configuration management and automation.
  • Development: Strong PHP development skills (preferably with Symfony or Laravel frameworks).
  • Database Management: Strong experience with MySQL, including design, optimization, and management.

Administrative Info:

Location: Our offices arein Italy & Germany, but this role is remote - you can be based anywhere in the European Union (we don't offer any relocation support).

Contract: Every Alfa begins their journey with a fixed-term contract of 1 year with the aim of renewing to an indefinite term.

Working hours: Monday - Friday | 09:00 - 18:00 | 1-hour lunch break

Salary range: 50,000€ - 65,000€

Trial Period: Dependent on the country of your residence

Start Date: Starting April/May 2025
