Job Description:

Hitachi Energy is hiring an Infrastructure Manager to work with the Business Solutions Team, Country IT SDM Managers, Infrastructure, and 3rd Party IT Suppliers to build and deliver IT Services and Solutions. You'll ensure that solutions meet agreed criteria and review SLAs and service metrics to identify improvement opportunities in IT Infrastructure. You will also strive for continuous improvements in the Infrastructure Service Portfolio for local Project Sites. 

 

You’ll also be responsible for the “End to End” Project IT Infrastructure service delivery to the Grid Integration Business Unit across UK and Ireland. Implements effective interfaces between IT teams for all IT services and, where required, ensures adherence in line with agreed service level agreements (SLAs), all within the department’s practice competence.  

 

Lead IT delivery by setting and monitoring targets. Maintain relationships with business project teams to balance cost, time, and demand. Manage expectations and requirements for local Project IT services delivery. Oversee capture, analysis, aggregation, and prioritization of IT site projects demand. Handle local demands, ensure security compliance, and support the wider IT organization with operations as needed.   

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for Infrastructure Project Delivery to PGGI Business within the UK and Ireland countries. Guides and supports Project Managers in their teams to enable on-time, on-budget and quality project delivery for PGGI Projects. Is a member of the Steering Committee for all Cross-Product Group projects within their region. 

  • Collaborate with Country IT Managers to assess business demand for existing or new IT solutions. Ensures the optimization of internal and cross-functional processes related to IT Project Site Service delivery in relevant area of responsibility. 

  • Proactively drive standardization and harmonization of the Project Site Infrastructure landscape. Ensuring alignment to given IT goals, and compliance with IT Enterprise Architecture and any relevant IT Standards. Provides input for development of IT internal standards. 

  • Manages assigned budget effectively and delivers activities within agreed schedules and costs.  Participates in the definition of costs and schedules within Infrastructure Delivery & Performance department.   

  • Face of Grid Integration Project Site Infrastructure in the Countries; works to increase satisfaction with IT Business Solution Teams services by assessing expectations, ensuring actions are taken to close any gaps and influencing stakeholder perceptions. Build successful relationships with Project Site leads and the Product Groups to provide status updates, resolve issues, and manage expectations. 

  • Provides input and can take ownership for any incident, change or project which has, or might have, a major impact on the Region, and/or on the Project Sites IT. Informs/consults relevant IT colleagues on any change or project activities which may have a major impact on the others' areas of responsibility. Directly engages vendors and/or product groups on behalf of their region with authority to take actions to limit or negate impacts of incidents. Engages with Service Integration to escalate or coordinate as and when required.
