Job Description

The West Central Europe (WCE) Communications Leader is responsible for delivering strategic communications priorities with a strong focus on Executive Communications, including corporate reputation, employee engagement, issues management, and sustainability and social impact communications in WCE.

The primary purpose of the role is to deliver integrated cluster communications programs that drive employee understanding and alignment to business priorities and build employee pride and advocacy in close partnership with key leaders.

The secondary purpose of the role is to drive thought leadership through external stakeholder engagements with the goal of building, enhancing and protecting Kimberly-Clark and its brands’ reputation.

Your Responsibility:

Support Business Strategy and Priorities

  • Support WCE MP and other leadership team members to build and effectively communicate the strategic narrative for the business to ensure clarity on business direction, strategy and short-and long-term priorities that connect to the overall enterprise strategy.
  • Proactively drive alignment between Enterprise Markets objectives, regional and local key messages and themes, and support the leadership and communications needs for employees both salaried and frontline manufacturing.
  • Connect teams and stakeholders across WCE to maximize the impact of initiatives and leverage best practice across the cluster.

Employee Engagement and Belonging

  • Responsible for developing and delivering a coordinated communications strategy across the WCE cluster that aims to engage employees, and improves belonging and pride in company. 
  • Oversee the curation and coordination of multiple storytelling initiatives, both internal and external, to showcase our strategy, purpose, and impact. 
  • Work closely with other the Enterprise Markets communications team to coordinate One Voice messages on key themes and topics. 
  • Work closely with other functions, especially Human Resources, to support initiatives on employee recognition and employer brand. 
  • Ensure adherence to corporate identity and guidelines, and the proper use of the Kimberly-Clark assets in all communications.
  • Develop effective measurement criteria to evaluate communications programs.

Protecting Corporate Reputation and Issues Management/Crisis Communications

  • Partner with key WCE stakeholders inside and outside the company to effectively managing issues and crises that impact the company’s reputation.
  • Coordinate with partner functions to ensure robust crisis preparedness and issues handling.
  • Collaborate with in market teams and global communications and public relations teams as needed.

Demonstrating Impact on uplifting communities

  • Partner with WCE marketing teams to develop and implement initiatives that showcase brand purpose in line with strategic business priorities.
  • Work with a variety of impact partners, both local and Enterprise Markets, to deliver grassroots programming in line with our corporate purpose.
  • Manage agency and other external business partner resources as needed.

This role will sit on the Western Central Europe leadership team, reports to the Senior Enterprise Markets Communications Leader, with a dotted line to the Enterprise Markets WCE Managing Director, whilst working in close partnership with Markets Commercial Leaders and various Functional Leaders to create and execute the annual communications and content strategic plan. The individual will serve on the Enterprise Markets WCE Leadership Team.

  • Project Management: Working across complex markets and businesses next to Project ManagementDigital Literacy: Canva, Social Chorus, social media, and the usual PPT, Word, Excel.
  • Crisis Management: Experience in handling communication during crises.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.

This is a fixed-term role until 31/12/2025.
