Job description

As a Product Manager leader at SSP, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our products and driving revenue growth through major sales initiatives. You will be responsible for leading the product strategy, development, and go-to-market efforts, focusing on delivering exceptional value to our business clients. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the software industry, a proven track record working with Telecom Companies, and exceptional leadership skills.  

The Product Manager works closely with members of the marketing team, sales team, and support and operations to ensure continuity in product offerings and the achievement of SSP goals. The Product Manager must also adhere to and promote SSP core values by performing duties in a manner that is consistent with being a team leader and that supports the continued growth of SSP.   
  

Duties and responsibilities

  • Product Strategy: Develop and execute the product roadmap, aligning with the company's overall strategic goals. Identify market opportunities, conduct market research, and analyze customer needs to enhance our product offerings. 

  • Product Priorities: Stay abreast of market needs and customer requirements to prioritize work in the development queue. This includes customer specific needs, product enhancements, and customer defects. 

  • Product Requirement Development: Creating detailed documents outlining the functional and non-functional requirements of 3-GIS suite of products, acting as a blueprint for the development team by defining what the software should do, how it should behave, and the expected performance levels, ensuring clear communication between stakeholders and developers throughout the development process. 

  • Support Sales: Support sales efforts by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, understanding their requirements, and effectively communicating how our products meet their business needs. Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop effective sales strategies and tactics. 

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, and customer support to ensure seamless product development, launch, and ongoing support. Foster a collaborative environment to maximize productivity and achieve company objectives. 

  • Product Development: Support the product development process from concept to launch, ensuring high-quality, user-friendly, and innovative solutions. Collaborate with the development team to prioritize features, conduct testing, and ensure timely delivery of releases. 

  • Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies. Use this knowledge to make data-driven decisions, anticipate market demands, and position our products effectively. Evaluate current products and recommend and implement strategies to improve quality, adapt pricing, and reduce costs. 

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide a team of sales engineers and collaborate with other departments to foster a culture of continuous improvement, creativity, and excellence. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors’ Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 

  • 10 years’ experience in product management at a b2b software company 

  • Strong knowledge of operational activities of Telecom utilities 

  • Knowledge of Jira and Jira Product Discovery  

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills 

  • Knowledge of modern software development practices 

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, results-oriented mindset. 

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written in English 
     

Working conditions 

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role requires routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers. This role may require up to 35% travel, both domestically and internationally.

This is a largely sedentary role.
