Customers interacting with brands is a modern way of life. Gone are the days where creating "two-way engagement" is the holy grail of marketing. Consumers have unprecedented access to the brands they are passionate about – and that access is becoming more and more available as each day passes. We know that the simple act of being connected to a brand doesn't mean that the connection is valuable.
Enter Limetree. We create meaningful connections between consumers and brands by defining what interactions are important to customers, consulting with brands on how to turn consumer data into actionable insight, creating a powerful story that is relevant to the brand experience, and using technology to collect, learn and deliver on our promise to engage the customer.
Limetree is a behavioral marketing company with a goal to create solutions that unite data and behavioral science to define the new standard in marketing performance. The Data Engineer is critical to the “data” side of our goal, as this person implements, scales, hardens and expands the data driven methodologies we use. Are you eager to push the bounds of data platforms? Do you want to find out what happens when the data scientist get MORE data to use? Do you say “better, faster, bigger” instead of “good enough, fast enough, big enough?” Then this role is for you.
This remote Data Engineer position will help us scale our data ingestion, feature engineering, and identity management and at time partner with data scientists on our data products. This means we process new data sets faster and generate more value-add for analytics, campaign execution, data science, and business intelligence users downstream. This data engineer’s efforts result in new, accessible, cataloged data sets that meet rigorous checks for quality and completeness.
This Data Engineer should be eager to be on a growth trajectory into a leadership position. Limetree expects that the problems above will require an innovative, collaborative, and flexible mindset. As the engineer becomes more comfortable in role, this engineer will work closely with fellow team members to build a roadmap that proactively identifies “what’s next,” “what’s faster,” and “what’s better,” and connects to emerging, high-value technology trends.
Responsibilities • Assist with continued migration to Databricks from our Snowflake data and EC2 infrastructure • Onboard new datasets and retro-board existing datasets • Assist with automation and the scaling of depth (size of data sets) and breadth (features in use) of data products supporting our data products • Support testing and prototyping activities, using cloud-native capabilities, API, and interaction layers for data products • Assist with maintaining secure, compliant, and high-quality data and analytics and machine learning operations • Assist with maintaining of migrating other AWS-hosted data-processing services that support Limetree’s data and analytics operations
Requirements To be successful in those tasks, we’re looking for some important experience: • Familiarity with Python-based Databricks, and preferably one year of experience • Python 3, SQL, and git experience • Experience with SQL and Relational Databases, like PostgreSQL or Snowflake • Solid experience in Linux; particularly in a CLI environment over SSH and working familiarity with small bash scripts (for big scripts, we like to use Python) • Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or related field • Have a good work ethic, a desire to be efficient, learn and be challenged, and be self-driven and motivated • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Candidates should fit in with a friendly, family-flexible team that enjoys supporting each other as we tackle some cool problems. This position has a remote option with preference for Dallas, TX area candidates.
