Job description

ROLE SUMMARY

The Director Learning Partner is responsible for providing global expertise to the PGS network (including point of contact for Mfg. Clusters – SBO/SMO and central functions) focused on designing and deploying robust and effective personnel and training processes that ensure colleague and contingent worker capability to meet competency, business and compliance needs. The role leads network training initiatives that drive continuous improvement critical to achieving the Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) Learning vision.

Acts as the L2 Process Centric Team (PCT) Leader for the region and serves as a proxy for the Personnel & Training Management (PTM) Global Process Owner (GPO). Accountability for driving global compliance and process performance. Responsible for proactively monitoring and maintaining the health of the respective process and sub-processes. Responsible for the oversight of data and digital system(s) for process where they exist.

Each Learning Partner is an integral part of the PGS Personnel and Training Management Process Centric Team (PCT) who coaches and mentors LPOs. With a key focus on standardization and removal of waste, they facilitate collaboration between LPOs to ensure consistency of deployment, sharing of innovative approaches and the continued focus on effective learning and capability development.

Partnering with L2 Process Global Process owners (GPOs) for the Quality Management System (QMS) they provide expertise and support to drive the identification and development of effective training solutions that meet role-task based learning needs.

Ensuring the global Learning programs on offer are fit for purpose and evolve based on the needs in PGS. As part of this global program portfolio, is leading the PGS behavioral based program focused on the reduction of human errors (Pfizer Human Factors Program – PHP) they lead the PHP Community of Practice (CoP) and provide PHP coaching.

The role involves working effectively with other organizations on a global basis. The successful candidate will have demonstrated actionable attitudes and built an inclusive, team-oriented environment with the department and the network.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

General

  • Lead/participate in network training initiatives that drive continuous improvement (process efficiencies and standardization, digital roadmap)
  • Maintain the global L2 Process for Personnel and Training Management and advocate and educate LPOs to embrace the L2 to meet capability and technical competency needs
  • Own the global training program portfolio – partner strategically to manage global programs that are fit for purpose, build capability and are deployed with effectiveness measures in place. Continue to assess portfolio to ensure that it meets future capability needs of the organisation, adjust offerings as required.
  • Perform annual analysis of training related regulatory / Pfizer observations, sharing interpretation and recommendations with the PGS network / PCT
  • Liaise with Enterprise training owners (YRR, Blue Book, etc.) to represent PGS (follow-up, timing, target audience, etc.)
  • Participate in external pharma meetings, as needed.

Learning Partner - QSTC Training point of contact for Sites (SBO or SMO) and Central Functions (combination of SCMOC, GT&E, Ext, PharmSci, etc.)

  • Actively monitor compliance information communications, working directly with Local Process Owners (LPOs) – Personnel and Training Management, before, during and after inspections to support training related observation understanding, interpretation and remedation – ensuring key learnings are shared as needed. Engage Cluster compliance Leads in relevant topics.
  • Coach, develop, mentor LPOs – Personnel and Training Management to ensure they are well equipped to fulfill their LPO responsibilities to maintain and sustain the L2 process at their site
  • Provide space for active connection and internal benchmarking to ensure the continued robustness and deployment of the L2 process

For assigned L2 QMS Processes

  • Lead the Learning Needs Assessment (LNA), in conjunction with the GPO; review and approve final LNA, aligned with strategy
  • Develop training materials as determined by the LNA, using contemporary instructional design practices and rendering eLearning (as applicable). Present at necessary forum on design
  • Work with Learning Technology & Solutions (LT&S) colleagues to develop global PLA items
  • Work with LT&S colleagues to develop role-task based Curricula.
  • Own and communicate the LNA deployment matrix (visualising all the PLA codes across all languages)
  • Work with GPO to develop a transition plan with details and expectations around recognition of prior learning (justifications for Waivers and Substitutes in PLA)

Pfizer’s Human Factors Program - PHP:

  • Maintain the suite of Training and materials for the PHP program, ensuring the program remains fresh, contemporary and aligned to human behavioural science and methodology
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and collaboration opportunities to Site PHP Leads
  • Lead PGS CoP for PHP – engaging appropriate steering committee representation (sites, center functions (EHS, IMEX, etc.)
  • Build PHP capability – coaching and certifying new PHP Facilitators to ensure robust and standard deployment of the program
  • Host Virtual PHP Workshops – as needed to meet strategic and center function
  • Participate in external pharma meetings, representing Pfizer (BPOG – human error stream)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education, training and development, instructional design or related fields.
  • Proven experience in training and development at a leadership level.
  • Excellent knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing and regulatory compliance needed.
  • Can communicate and influence at Sr. Leadership level.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and through data analytics and trends, takes an informed position.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and challenges status quo.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and has experience with organizational goal setting
  • Familiarity with the GxP requirements and current hot topics / trends
  • Strong communication skills including presenting to and influencing leaders
  • Can effectively work in a truly global environment and embraces diversity and Inclusion.
  • Can understand and keep abreast of regulatory and industry standards and expectations for training and learning
  • Can Perform trend analysis and critical thinking to identify remediation and CI opportunities
  • Ability to identify risks and need for escalation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of instructional systems design, performance consulting, human error reduction, learning methodologies, learning technologies, and learning evaluation.
  • Able to work in a network role and has the context of global, regional and site needs.
  • E-learning development experience and capability

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand / sit for extended periods of time.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Travel up to 10% of the time; flexibility to work off hours as needed to support all regions.
