PAY RANGE
The Target Pay Range for this position is $31.11-$37.88 hourly. The full Pay Range is $24.14-$44.90 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:
As a Compliance Specialist – Business Unit at BECU, you will play a crucial role in ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate reporting of Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data. Your expertise will directly support our mortgage and home equity lending processes, helping maintain integrity and compliance within our operations. You will analyze loan-level data, provide guidance to internal teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance procedures. Your work will have a meaningful impact on BECU’s compliance framework while fostering a culture of accuracy, transparency, and accountability.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Ensure Compliance Accuracy: Validate and analyze HMDA data to ensure adherence to disclosure requirements for cancelled, withdrawn, denied, and funded mortgage or home equity applications.
Regulatory Research & Analysis: Research and interpret HMDA industry practices and regulations, ensuring BECU’s policies align with industry standards.
Data Review & Submission: Perform timely and accurate reviews of loan data for submission to the Compliance department, ensuring compliance with all HMDA reporting requirements.
Documentation Verification: Review loan notes and documentation to confirm accuracy and compliance with HMDA action taken.
Internal Coordination: Collaborate with Compliance Administrators and Corporate Compliance teams to develop responses to internal HMDA reviews.
Training & Guidance: Partner with department trainers, managers, and key stakeholders to identify compliance issues, trends, and training needs, ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
Process Improvement: Assist in the development and implementation of compliance-related lending practices to enhance operational efficiency and compliance adherence.
Stakeholder Communication: Provide guidance and feedback to management and staff, reinforcing compliance best practices across business units.
Additional Responsibilities: Take on additional duties as assigned, contributing to the broader success of BECU’s compliance efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work or education-related experience.
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in consumer or mortgage lending compliance within a financial institution.
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of mortgage and home equity lending policies and HMDA compliance requirements.
Commitment to Excellence: Full-time availability with the flexibility to work additional hours when necessary.
