Our Claims team is growing! We are looking for a Litigation Claims Adjuster with experience handling litigated property claims to help us oversee filed claims through the litigation process. Here you will manage first-party property lawsuits in addition to documenting the file claim over the course of litigation. Discussing legal strategies, analyzing litigation budgets and invoices while assisting with settlement negotiations can all be expected in this role.
You will have the opportunity to develop a litigation strategy after reviewing the initial complaint and any amended actions. Additionally, you will have the chance to give presentations covering trends, pre-suit claims, and matters surrounding the litigation process.
Regular collaboration with defense counsel, claims counsel, and litigation claims management for strategic planning
Acknowledging new suit assignments, provide a summary of the claim, analyze coverage issues, and identify claims issues through fact analysis
Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with approved defense firms and other vendors in the industry
Communicating with various parties associated with the claim by responding to written and verbal inquiries in a timely and professional manner, ensuring compliance within all company and statutory guidelines
Focused review of legal documents including but not limited to Pleadings, Discovery, and Motions to ensure congruence with initial suit-handling plan of action
Serving as corporate representative for discovery review and depositions
Preparing for and attend mediations, depositions, arbitrations and trials as warranted
Appropriately applying knowledge of multiple state statutes, including the insurance code of ethics, rules, regulations, and guidelines
Keeping up to date regarding industry news, issues, policy changes, and trends
3+ years of first-party property claims adjusting
1+ years of first-party property litigation experience
Ability to professionally collaborate with inside/outside council and leadership staff
Experience working directly for an insurance carrier
Strong working knowledge of Florida insurance laws and good faith claims handling experience focusing on structures + dwellings
Technical savviness and familiarity with tools such as Excel, Snapsheet, and Slack
Outstanding organizational ability with desire to problem solve and investigate issues
