Position Summary:

 

The Specialty Pharmacy Coordinator will report to United Urology Group (UUG) Director of Pharmacy Services. An ideal candidate will be ready to roll up their sleeves, and partner with in-office dispensing (IOD) staff, revenue cycle management (RCM), medical assistants, front desk staff, physicians, and advanced practitioners to implement a streamlined and efficient process for the Pharma Optimization Program.  The Specialty Pharmacy Coordinator will provide expertise and support UUG sites to ensure a successful Pharma Optimization Program and ensure excellent patient care.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review and screen daily patient lists to ensure all steps in the pharma optimization workflow have been completed with appropriate documentation.
  • Act as a liaison between the IOD and RCM teams to ensure drug authorization by appropriate line of business.
  • Maintains good working relationships with front desk staff and medical assistants to ensure coordination of delivery and administration of patient prescriptions.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation for streamlined and efficient Pharma Optimization Workflows.
  • Identify new pharma optimization opportunities based on daily review of patient charts.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and assist with executing plans to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Triage and address, along with Director of Pharmacy Services, any practice clinical concerns/complaints surrounding Pharma Optimization Program.
  • Serve as a liaison between UUG practices and leadership to address any practice needs and/or concerns surrounding Pharma Optimization Program.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certificate or Associate’s in area of specialty preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years health care experience required.
  • Knowledge of Veradigm (Preferred).
  • Flexible hours to support projects assigned.

 

Knowledge, Competencies & Skills:

 

  • Knowledge of cancer medications, dosing, and proper admixture with ability to access resources as required.
  • Knowledge of clinic procedures and operations.
  • Strong people skills for pharmacy staff and practice interactions.
  • Ability to use computers and software applications (MS Office products).
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent project management skills with an emphasis on detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

 

Tech Requirements for the Job:

 

  • High-speed, reliable internet connection to ensure uninterrupted communication and access to necessary systems and tools.
  • Quiet and private work environment to maintain the confidentiality of patient information and minimize background noise during calls.
  • Proficiency in using remote collaboration tools, such as video conferencing software, instant messaging platforms, and customer relationship management systems.
  • Compliance with all security and privacy policies and protocols, including safeguarding patient information and maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Physical Requirements for the Job:

 

  • Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods.

  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 lbs.
