Senior Software Developer (Back End)

BitPay is in search of an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our backend team. As a key member, you'll play an important role in crafting new products, driving innovation, and staying ahead of technological advancements. This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside within the Eastern Time (EST) or Central Time (CST) zones to facilitate effective collaboration with the majority of the development team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop scalable and maintainable projects and systems using Node.js and MongoDB
• Collaborate with various teams and departments to build out key features and products for our customers as well as internal tooling
• Ensure high code quality through functional testing, unit and integration testing, code reviews, and in-depth documentation
• Address scalability, reliability, and logging challenges during development phases
• Mentor and guide other developers, fostering growth within the team
• Stay updated on new technologies to keep the team innovative and competitive

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Expert-Level proficiency in Node.js and MongoDB
• Experience building production level APIs
• Strong desire for continuous learning and improvement of solutions, systems, and processes
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software projects in professional environments
• Passion for your craft, a drive for progress, and a commitment to excellence
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with a track record of impressive projects
• A portfolio of projects i.e. GitHub

Preferred:

• Experience working with EVM and/or UTXO blockchains
• Passion for cryptocurrency as a payments system
• Experience with GraphQL
