Role
Build multiplayer features for Paper using Nakama
Phase 1: Develop social multiplayer features (e.g., leaderboards with real user data)
Phase 2: Create real-time multiplayer for core gameplay (ensuring low-latency, physics-based interactions with continuous state synchronization and client-side prediction).
Phase 3: Scale multiplayer infrastructure to support our large player base ( efficient room creation, matchmaking, and server optimization).
Collaborate closely with our small, talented team
Profile
5+ years of professional back-end development experience
Professional experience in C# and Unity
Proven expertise in multiplayer server architecture and networking
Experience with the Heroic Labs stack (including Nakama, Satori and Heroic Cloud) is a strong plus
Skilled in optimizing high-load systems and ensuring peak performance
Specialized strengths (e.g., database optimization, network performance, distributed systems) are a major plus
Excellent problem-solving skills and reliability
Strong communication in English
A proactive developer committed to high quality and excellence
