Senior Level Back End Developer

Overview/ Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Level Back End Developer to join our team on a federal government DevSecOps contract supporting the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, developing, and implementing solutions using Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dataverse. This position requires expertise in building custom business applications, automating workflows, deploying bots, integrating APIs, and analyzing data to support federal government service management initiatives.

*Position can be supported remotely working on Eastern Standard Time Mon-Fri between 8am-5pm:

Responsibilities:

• Develop Custom Business Applications by using Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dataverse
• Ability to automate workflows and integrate various services using connectors to improve business processes and efficiency
• Experience developing chatbots for customer service and automation tasks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into functional applications.
• Ensure seamless integration with existing systems and applications by understanding of third-party API integration and custom connector development.
• Utilize Power Platform tools to analyze data and generate insights that support decision-making.
• Participate in the DevSecOps process to ensure secure and efficient development and deployment of applications.
• Work closely with federal security and operations teams to implement best practices and meet federal security control compliance.
• Use Rally and scrum methodologies to manage deployments, tasks, and user stories.
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to continuously improve development processes.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients to ensure project success.
• Ability to understand Software Architecture specifications and translate them to a runnable code
• Understanding of Microsoft Graph and EntraId integration for authentication and authorization and experience working with Azure Service Principle accounts (App registrations)
• Hands-on experience with OpenID Connect concepts (Identity Tokens, Client Credentials grant type, JWT)
• Experience working with REST based APIs and JSON message format
• Experience with (low-code/no-code) Azure Logic Apps/Functions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in backend application development
• Knowledge of languages like JavaScript, C#, or HTML can be helpful, especially for custom development and enhancements.
• Experience with Rally and scrum methodologies in an agile environment.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and practices
• Microsoft Power Platform certifications preferred, including PL-400: Microsoft Power Platform Developer and PL-500: Microsoft Power Automate RPA Developer
• Ability to understand Software Architecture specifications and translate them to a runnable code
• Understanding of Microsoft Graph and Entra ID integration for authentication and authorization and experience working with Azure Service Principle accounts (App registrations)
• Hands-on experience with OpenID Connect concepts (Identity Tokens, Client Credentials grant type, JWT)
• Experience working with REST based APIs and JSON message format
• Experience with (low-code/no-code) Azure Logic Apps/Functions
• Experience with Azure API Management services from custom APIs configuration standpoint (not system administration)
• Understanding TLS and PKI certificates concepts.
