Job description

For People is a team of skilled technologists improving government digital services for disadvantaged and vulnerable populations. We embed directly in government agencies to modernize software, systems, and platforms so that they better serve people.

Your Impact

As a Salesforce Developer supporting a critical Medicaid program at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), you will design and implement a Salesforce approvals workflow that facilitates the secure review, approval, and display of Medicaid-related data on dashboards and reports. Your work will involve automating approvals, configuring workflows, and developing custom components when needed using Apex and Lightning to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility. By modernizing this process, you will help government analysts and decision-makers efficiently review and approve data for reporting, ultimately supporting Medicaid policy decisions and improving healthcare outcomes for millions of Americans.

Our Culture

For People is a team of humans. We place a significant amount of emphasis on positive work-life balance, setting healthy expectations, and making sure our loved ones are taken care of first. That means picking a child up from school during the day or going for a mid-day walk is okay!

Our entire team is remote across the United States, from the West Coast to the East Coast. There will never be a return-to-office, as we have none! However, it should be noted that this position may require occasional paid travel once or twice a year to the Balitmore area for planning sessions.

This is a 1-year contract opportunity for an independent contractor with a pay range of $80–$120 per hour, depending on experience and expertise.

Your Opportunities
  • Design and implement Salesforce approval workflows to support data review and reporting processes
  • Develop and configure automation using Apex, Flow, and Process Builder to streamline approval processes and data accessibility
  • Build and customize Lightning components to enhance user experience and workflow efficiency
  • Collaborate with product managers and business analysts to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure alignment with program goals
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to workflows, automation, and system integrations.
  • Ensure data integrity and security within Salesforce
  • Document technical solutions, configurations, and best practices to support long-term maintainability
You Bring
  • A humble and caring attitude aligning with For People’s values – how we work with passion, fun, curiosity, sustainability, humility, and respect
  • 4+ years of experience of software development or similar experience
  • Experience configuring approval workflows and automation within Salesforce to support business processes
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce integration patterns
  • Experience working in Agile environments, delivering iterative improvements and enhancements
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to senior government partners

As we work on United States Federal Government programs and systems, it is the government's requirement that you must be a United States citizen and be able to pass a public trust background check. All work must be performed within the United States.

For People is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. We welcome all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, or veteran status.
