Buckner Children and Family Services Community: International Programs
Location: Dallas, TX - Remote 
Job Schedule: Full-Time 

We are seeking a Regional Director for Latin America to join our International Program. As a Regional Director for Latin America, you will Shine Hope as you provide leadership, management, and direction for all program planning and operations for international operations. You will work with Buckner staff and Country Directors to plan, direct and administer each assigned Buckner Children and Family Services site’s approved budget and programming in accordance with Buckner direction, strategy, priorities, and policies. You will also support Buckner International business development and monitor and evaluate performance in assigned operations division and with assigned BIM to ensure accomplishment of goals, objectives, and strategies in the most effective and cost-efficient manner. What you'll do:

  • Oversee the day-to-day country operations of for each BIM site. Ensure execution of plans, policies and budget as approved by Buckner Executive Management.
  • Facilitate and/or oversee in-country (BIM) operational planning and delivery. This includes, but is not limited to, Family, Community and Empowerment Programs as well as humanitarian aid and support.
  • Develop and support program staff to ensure that quality services are delivered effectively and efficiently to clients. Develop and monitor systems to provide accountability for assigned programs.
  • Develop and support in-country staff to implement sustainability practices with the goal of reasonable country self-sufficiency. This includes working with the Regional Fundraising Expert of Latin America to develop in-country business/donor development utilizing Buckner best practices.
  • Direct and manage the development of strategic action plans, strategies, and policies for each assigned program. Ensure alignment with and attainment of goals and objectives.
  • Supervise, monitor, evaluate and provide direction to direct reports. Ensures optimal job performance; identify issues, discuss with staff and direct corrective actions; assist, guide and support supervisors with employee selection, review, evaluation and terminations. 
  • Provide professional growth and development of the International Operations staff; develop and communicate annual goals and objectives; monitor and provide constructive feedback; conduct annual performance evaluation in a timely manner.
  • Keep supervisors and executive management apprised of current critical issues and status.
  • Support strategic planning and direction for International Operations; evaluate results, identify opportunities, initiate improvements and measure performance against objectives.

 What you’ll bring:

  • This field of knowledge is normally associated with the attainment of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a Master’s Degree in Social Work. A Master’s Degree in Business Administration or the equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years prior related experience in social services operations required.
  • Requires ability to acquire and demonstrate proficient working knowledge of the laws and regulations affecting social services operations in foreign countries. Requires ability to work with partners/government agencies without violating any restrictions related to obtaining required licenses, contracts, etc. for performing social services operations in foreign countries.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak both English and Spanish professionally. 
  • Requires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner’s insurance policy. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.
  • Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
  • Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
