Ancora High School is searching for a Course Coach for our Math courses.

This is a remote, online, part-time position.

Job Summary   

Course Coaches (Coaches) are responsible for the delivery of educational materials by utilizing sound educational practices focused on the successful academic development of each student. Instructors utilize the educational experience to develop students’ knowledge and skills to help students earn their high school diplomas. Coaches promote an educational environment that is engaging, dynamic, and student-centered, additionally providing support, tutoring, and other assistance as needed. Coaches lead by example and model professional behavior centered on ethical conduct, focusing on the Ancora High School Vision, Mission, and Core Values. 

Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in assigned course content or 18 semester credit hours or 24 quarter credit hours in the assigned content area(s);

  • Before beginning to teach, a course coach either needs to have documented prior teaching experience or complete the new coach training;

  • Demonstration of the highest levels of integrity and professionalism in all aspects, including appearance, demeanor, and attitude;

  • Solid computer software skills, such as Google Suite applications;

  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse groups of employees and customers;

  • Ability to work in an observation/coaching style environment;

  • Capability to prioritize, accept responsibility, and work within deadlines;

  • Superior organizational and problem-resolution skills; 

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service. 

PREFERRED:

  • Experience facilitating online instruction

  • State teacher certification in the assigned content area(s) 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Utilize classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaging educational experience. 

  • Guarantee students have been presented with the material to meet the learning objectives of each course successfully 

  • Ensure that instructional course materials are ready for student use.

  • Participate in ongoing coach assessment and professional development activities to ensure an active, engaged, and up-to-date classroom experience for all students.

  • Actively participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines. 

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies’ guidelines

  • Comply with Ancora High School policies and procedures.

  • Tutor and assist students as necessary. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

TYPICAL WORK HOURS: 

Course coachwork hours are dependent upon student needs. Coaches should plan to be available during posted office hours, which are to include daytime hours, evening hours, and weekend hours. Coaches are to schedule office hours for two (2) hours per week per course section. Coaches must also be available to assist students with tutoring and course assignments that may be outside of posted office hours.  Course assignments are based on enrollment needs, and continuing course coaching agreements are not guaranteed from one course to the next.  Coaches must meet all course timelines, such as grading periods and posting final grades.  Coaches are also expected to participate in course coach in-services and meetings. This position is not eligible for overtime pay.
