Position Summary: 

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Marketing & Communications Coordinator to support our brand’s digital presence and marketing initiatives. This role will have a primary focus on social media management, overseeing the organization’s brand accounts and executive accounts, while also assisting with email marketing, website updates, and cross-team content support. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Develop and schedule accessible content for owned and executive social media accounts, ensuring alignment with the organization's brand and voice.
  • Monitor social media trends and conversations to proactively engage with audiences and amplify key messaging.
  • Collaborate with internal team to support campaigns, announcements, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Draft social media copy for executives, tailoring messaging for each platform while maintaining an authentic and professional tone.
  • Track performance metrics (engagement, reach, impressions, etc.) and provide regular reports with insights and recommendations.
  • Manage a content calendar and ensure timely execution of social media initiatives.
  • Support social media monitoring and reputation management efforts as needed.
  • Assist in drafting and scheduling marketing emails, newsletters, and announcements.
  • Support website updates, including content management, minor copy edits, and ensuring accessibility best practices.
  • Work cross-functionally to align messaging across social media, email, and web platforms.

Other duties and expectations of the role: 

  • Capture real-time content at in-person events as needed, including taking photos and videos for social media use.
  • Assist with basic video editing and production to enhance social media content.
  • Support other marketing and communications initiatives as needed, including campaign development and project coordination.

Qualifications / Skills: 

  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and others) including understanding of these platforms ad and business tools.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing basics.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different platforms.
  • Basic experience with email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar) and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
  • Experience using social media management and reporting tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with strong attention to detail.

Familiarity with accessibility best practices for digital content is a plus. 

 

Work Schedule, Location, and Travel Requirements: 

  • Disability:IN is a fully remote organization; employees are expected to operate independently from a home office.
  • May require some domestic travel 2-3 times a year for 3-5 days at a time.
  • This role may cause for some occasional night and weekend work may be required.

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least two years of progressive experience working with high-volume social media platforms.
