Job description

Medsphere Systems Corporation is seeking a Maintenance and Monitoring Engineer for our Systeem Medical division. Systeem Medical is a well-established managed IT services company that specializes in supporting and managing the IT environment for healthcare practices.  Our proactive services include performance and availability monitoring, preventive maintenance, helpdesk, cloud services, technology planning, and application support.  The position can be in Plano, TX or can be remote.  

Responsibilities:    

  •  Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve client issues. 
  • Perform actions required to resolve clients’ monitoring, service desk, project, and critical alert tickets as well as perform client maintenance as assigned, providing detailed documentation as to actions taken to resolve issues, client network information, client communications, expenses and time within internal ticketing software and/or knowledge base.    
  • Take ownership of clients’ technical issues and see problems through to resolution.  
  • Use remote monitoring and management systems to monitor and maintain client outages and performance issues within monitored networks.  
  • Analyze infrastructure and perform technology audits to produce policies and recommendations based on HIPAA, HITECH, and security guidelines.  
  • Interface with clients’ vendors to resolve technological issues to clients’ satisfaction. 
  • Provide on-call support after hours as needed.  

 Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a technical support role is required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Windows Server operating systems is required. 
  • Hands on technical experience with LAN/WAN operations and protocols required. 
  • Support experience with medical facilities in a production environment is preferred. 
  • Current certifications, such as MCSE, are strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with a working knowledge of Linux are desired. 
  • Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, able to work with moderate supervision.
  • Must be able to relay technical information to clients with varying skill levels in a manner in which they can understand.
  • A keen ability to learn quickly and find resolutions to technical issues.
