POSITION SUMMARY
The Digital Fundraising Manager will drive donor acquisition, retention, and engagement through strategic use of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). This role is ideal for an innovative digital engagement specialist with a passion for cultivating donor relationships through compelling content and data-driven strategies.

Reporting to the VP of Development, this position focuses on leveraging SFMC for digital fundraising and managing peer-to-peer (P2P) campaigns via DonorDrive.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Donor Acquisition & Growth:
  • Develop and implement donor acquisition strategies using Marketing Cloud to expand our donor base.
  • Segment and engage potential donors through personalized, data-driven campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to create strategic layered campaigns to reach new supporters and further engage existing donors.
  • Optimize donor acquisition channels to maximize ROI and engagement.
Donor Retention & Engagement:
  • Create and manage focused email campaigns to nurture donor relationships and increase retention.
  • Build and execute donor stewardship journeys using Marketing Cloud automation, tracking, and reporting tools.
  • Leverage personalized communications to update donors on the impact of their contributions.
  • Design re-engagement campaigns for lapsed donors, with the aim of renewing support.
Data & Analytics:
  • Utilize Marketing Cloud’s analytics tools to monitor the performance of donor engagement campaigns.
  • Leverage A/B testing, customer journey mapping, and segmentation to refine donor outreach strategies.
  • Track and report on donor acquisition costs, lifetime value, and other key performance metrics.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of donor data in Marketing Cloud and Salesforce.
Content Strategy & Campaign Management:
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Development teams to create compelling content that resonates with various donor segments.
  • Oversee the creation of email templates, landing pages, and other engagement assets in Marketing Cloud and DonorDrive.
  • Ensure consistency and alignment of messaging with organizational goals, values, and branding guidelines.
  • Develop and execute content calendars for donor engagement, including newsletters, fundraising appeals, and event promotions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Marketing and Communication teams to ensure alignment between marketing efforts and development goals.
  • Support the creation of donor-focused campaigns for events, giving days, matching campaigns, and other initiatives.
Marketing Cloud Expertise:
  • Act as the power user for all aspects of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, ensuring its full utilization for donor communication.
  • Stay updated on new features and best practices within Marketing Cloud and implement those that align with the organization’s needs.
  • Train team members on the various use cases and strategic value of the platform.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong understanding of donor acquisition strategies, email marketing best practices, and engagement tactics.
  • Proficient in Marketing Cloud tools (e.g., Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Social Studio).
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling and persuasive messaging.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related field (preferred).

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in digital engagement, preferably within a non-profit setting.
  • Proven experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) for email marketing, donor acquisition, and engagement.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, donor databases, and segmentation strategies.
  • Experience with automation, personalization, and A/B testing in Marketing Cloud.

  • Knowledge of SharePoint (preferred).
  • Experience working in CRMs to implement best practices in data tracking and management.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and complete them on time with limited supervision.
  • Must possess a high level of independence in accomplishing the responsibilities of the position.
  • Must be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

TRAVEL, WORK ENVIRONMENT, AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, during regular business hours.
  • The Digital Fundraising Manager operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses digital communication tools.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and may need to stare at a computer screen and/or documents for extended periods.
  • This position is expected to regularly attend Foundation meetings and training, as well as in-person events twice a year.
Pay Range:
  • 60,000 - 70,000
