Job Description: 

POSITION

The DevOps Manager will report directly to the Director of R&D and will lead our DevOps team in delivering high availability, scalability, and reliability for our products. The DevOps Manager will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code while guiding your team in best practices for deployment, monitoring, and disaster recovery.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The DevOps Manager responsibilities include:

  • Direct and mentor a cross-functional team of Cloud Administrators and DevOps Engineers
  • Lead and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and AWS CodePipeline
  • Oversee infrastructure as code efforts using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Manage Docker container deployments in production and testing environments
  • Architect and maintain auto-scaling solutions (e.g., AWS ECS, Lambda, EC2)
  • Develop and enforce disaster recovery strategies to ensure high availability and site reliability
  • Implement and maintain monitoring/logging systems (Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Continuously refine and speed up the deployment process, reducing time to market and boosting reliability
  • Troubleshoot production issues and offer technical support to developers and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align DevOps solutions with business needs

Required Skills:

  • Experience leading and mentoring cross-functional teams (Cloud Administrators, DevOps Engineers).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to align DevOps strategies with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder management and technical support capabilities.
  • Experience in CI/CD pipeline development (Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipelines).
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Managing container security, networking, and scaling.
  • Cost optimization and cloud resource monitoring.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps best practices.
  • Experience implementing disaster recovery plans.
  • Incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in budgeting and cost optimization for cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with full-stack observability (tracing, metrics, logging).
  • Experience with serverless frameworks (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
  • Experience with predictive analytics for system reliability and incident response.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role, with some team leadership or managerial responsibilities
  • Solid grasp of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing Docker containers
  • Strong background with AWS
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash)
  • Bonus: Knowledge of Kafka, SQL databases, and SQL programming
