Course Number and Title: ENV100H1F Introduction to Environmental Studies

Course Description: An investigation of the relationship between human beings and their natural and built environments. This interdisciplinary course will draw from the sciences, social sciences and the humanities to explore major social, cultural, economic, regulatory, ethical, ecological and technological aspects of environmental issues.

Sessional Dates of Appointment: May 1, 2025 - June 30, 2025

Salary:

  • Sessional Lecturer I - $9,457.90
  • Sessional Lecturer I Long-Term - $9,930.79
  • Sessional Lecturer II - $10,121.77
  • Sessional Lecturer II Long-Term - $10,326.62
  • Sessional Lecturer III - $10,362.76
  • Sessional Lecturer III Long-Term - $10,570.02

Please note that should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the Collective Agreement shall prevail.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in relevant area of study or equivalent professional and/or academic experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant academic or professional publications and previous experience teaching a similar undergraduate course are highly desirable.

Description of Duties:

  • Develop a detailed syllabus and curriculum for the course
  • Teach the course in an asynchronous format
  • Evaluate student performance
  • Hold office hours and meet with students as they request
  • Manage a team of teaching assistants
  • Handle other pedagogical and administrative tasks ordinarily associated with an undergraduate course
