Position Overview:

The Associate Director of Technical Marketing is a strategic role with global span requiring significant technical and scientific expertise, excellent communication skills, experience in a biopharma CDMO services and ideally either experience in marketing strategy, scientific communications strategy, or a technical sales environment. 

 

The individual will support a wide range of global marketing activities and thought leadership scientific/technical communications aligned with the Company business and marketing strategy to promote and expand FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies’ (FDB) presence in the global marketplace.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Technical Marketing, this is a key position that will take an active role in supporting the development of the thought leadership content and strategy within the Global Marketing Strategy,aligned with FDB’s services, modality strategy and Business Development Commercial Strategy. The priority is to create thought leadership content and strategy, build and share scientific, technical and market knowledge that will engage customers, showcase our expertise to customer segments, differentiate our offerings, and ultimately deliver growth to the business in alignment with organizational objectives. 

 

MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to): 

  • Lead the thought leadership strategy, content development and tactics that are aligned with the Global Marketing Strategy and omni-channel demand generation marketing campaigns, in the following product line modalities: 
  • Cell Culture 
  • Microbial 
  • Viral Vector and Vaccines 
  • Cell and Gene therapy 
  • Process Characterization and other scientific services 
  • Drug Product manufacturing services 
  • Commercial manufacturing services 
  • Support the creation, improvement, and maintenance of a broad range of compliant and up to date marketing materials including but not limited to: 
  • Thought leadership content: white papers, insight briefs, webinars, blogs, speaker slide presentations and posters for conferences and events, industry publications 
  • slide presentations for business development team use with customers 
  • marketing brochures, fact sheets and other collateral 
  • website pages 
  • sales training tools and presentations 
  • marketing communications, such as launch plans, new site openings, and press releases  
  • Serve as Marketing’s technical liaison with internal groups. Assist in the development of positioning, core messaging and customer segmentation aligned with the specific service and product offerings. 
  • Lead the development of the thought leadership strategy and create the corresponding thought leadership content aligned with the omni-channel demand generation go-to-market (GTM) strategy and goals 
  • Collaborate effectively with internal subject matter experts (SMEs), key opinion leaders (KOL) and speakers, marketing, communications, scientific and technical team members to develop thought leadership content that differentiates our offerings and demonstrates our expertise.  
  • Create evidence-based proof points and competitive profiles to support Global Marketing strategy and GTM plans.   
  • Manage SME, KOL, speaker, and third-party vendor relationships to ensure content strategy is executed on time and on-budget 
  • Measure and report thought leadership strategy, KPIs and ROI; adjust strategy and tactics as needed to drive demand, customer engagement and conversion. 
  • Support the content development of the kojoX (innovative, modular operational delivery ecosystem), and Partners for Life brand campaign tactics through the creation of aligned thought leadership content. 
  • Provide technical support on strategic marketing projects including conference thought leadership strategy, branding, service offering definition, differentiation, and positioning, and messaging. 
  • Coordinate scientific posters and publications for the technical teams as needed. 
  • Represent FDB in industry conferences, Lunch & Learns, Workshops as needed. 
  • Perform other activities as assigned. 

 

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS: 

  • BSc in Biological Sciences or related subject with a minimum of 10 years work experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Contract Research (CRO) or Contract Development and Manufacturing (CDMO) Industries; Masters or PhD Degree in Biological Sciences, Business, Marketing or related subject with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Bio/Pharmaceutical Industry. 
  • Excellent understanding of microbial, mammalian and viral/gene therapy-based sectors with a desire to continue learning to provide effective support as FDB expands its technical capabilities and offerings. 
  • Excellent communication skills demonstrated with the ability to work effectively in cross functional teams and effectively influence team members. Proven ability to establish effective relationships with stakeholders and peers. 
  • Excellent technical scientific writing and presentational skills. Proven ability to translate scientific and technical content into concise and persuasive market messages and engaging content. 
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects on time and on-budget 
  • Experience with technology transfer and an understanding of principal unit operations in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. 
  • Technical experience in biologics process/analytical development or manufacturing, ideally in a contract services business environment is desirable. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge with a variety of marketing concepts, practices and procedures. 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software tools like SalesForce, SmartSheet, ShowPad, and Adobe. 
  • Ability to work in a complex, dynamic, global environment with agility, and willingness to travel when necessary.

The US salary range for this position is $131,000 to $198,000.  Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
