The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services Network Engineering team:

The EIS Infrastructure engineering team is responsible for designing, building and integrating infrastructure solutions in support of evolving Wide Area Networks (WAN), Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN), Local Area Networks (LAN),  Wireless Networks and Voice/VoIP Infrastructure across RTX’s global footprint. This intern position will report into an Associate Director, Infrastructure Engineering, and will have opportunity to work with a team of 40+ engineers developing transformative solutions to complex infrastructure challenges. 

What You Will do

  • Work within a distributed team where members are spread across numerous locations and communicate virtually to support network infrastructure engineering projects and deliverables
  • Support the maintenance of network infrastructure documentation including diagrams, inventories, configurations and procedures
  • Collaborate across functions (Infrastructure, Cyber, DT, Business Units) to develop well rounded solutions to enable business success
  • Assist in the development of scripts and other automations of manual tasks.
  • Support real-time troubleshooting and resolution of network connectivity issues
  • Follow defined change management and other pre-defined required processes
  • Participate in the development of configuration scripts based on standards and reference architectures
  • Flexibility with work hours to provide support during various change windows

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and must not graduate before August 2025. Please submit a copy of your academic transcripts with your application.
  • 1+ years of experience working with Experience with Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Visio, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Foundational understanding of network technologies (Routing, Switching, Subnetting, Encryption)
  • Working knowledge of network automation technologies including: Python, Ansible, Git

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Knowledge of Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto or similar certifications are a plus.
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Adaptability and multi-tasking; experience working in a fast-moving environment
  • Diligent, disciplined, reliable and strives for highest quality work product
  • Must be Self-motivated with the ability to work both collaboratively on a team or self-guided with minimal oversight

Location: This position is remote, however, candidates must be located in Massachusetts or Connecticut.

Remote: This position is currently designated as remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from Massachusetts or Connecticut. Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
