Job Details:

Traffic Engineering Intern:

  • This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projects
  • You will flourish on both building meaningful internal and external professional relationships
  • You will work closely and collaboratively with other industry leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors
  • Focus on Signal Performance Measures (SPM) Comprehensive intersection configurations
  • Device/License management, and User management
  • Perform traffic engineering and project management tasks to deliver a wide variety of transportation planning, transit, traffic engineering, safety, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) projects for many, diverse clients
  • Learn how SynchroGreen traffic signal adaptive software is configured, setup and deployed.
  • As a critical member of the team, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks and will receive both on-the-job and formal training as well as mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions

Education Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in civil engineering with a focus on traffic engineering. 

  • Strong academic performance with a relevant GPA. 

Technical Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of traffic engineering principles and concepts 
  • Familiarity with traffic analysis software (e.g., Synchro, TransCAD) 
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis techniques 
  • SimTraffic, 3D Viewer, Trip Gen and Warrants  

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Ability to effectively present technical information 

Relevant Experience:

  • Previous internships or research projects related to traffic engineering 
  • Participation in student transportation engineering organizations 
  • Experience with traffic data collection or analysis

Cubic Pay Range: 

$25 – $30/hr. + benefits. 

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
