Job description

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our fun, flexible and driven Finance team of 6 at our Helsinki Office, or remotely. If you are looking for a continuously evolving growth environment where you get to take ownership of a myriad of topics finance and accounting, take the first step and apply now!

This is an exciting time to join our Finance team, as we are continuously developing our finance processes, aiming to improve reporting speed and accuracy. As a Financial Controller you’ll be reporting to the CFO, and will have a hands-on role in developing our ways of working, putting control frameworks in place and influencing finance related decision making together with our in-house Group Accounting team. 

You will manage the accuracy of our Group financials, oversee the group consolidation process and play a key role in the monthly closing process together with the Accounting team using Netsuite ERP system. You partner with our auditors both in Finland and abroad and oversee smooth reporting processes. You will be in charge of the validation of our sales commission calculations and manage our tax processes  with the help of our CFO and external advisors. You will drive the tax registrations processes in different European countries and oversee the reporting that comes with these alongside with a myriad of other topics coming your way.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage the accuracy of our monthly reporting both on subsidiary and Group level (FAS)

  • Oversee the Group consolidation process

  • Compile the Group financial statements together with the Group Accountant

  • Manage our audit partners both in Finland and globally to oversee smooth audit processes

  • Manage and develop processes and tools for robust financial controls framework & governance

  • Take ownership of the Group’s tax compliance with the help of the CFO and our external tax consultants - topics ranging from branch registrations to transfer pricing, CIT, VAT, GST etc.

  • Review quarterly sales commission calculations for accuracy

  • Drive cash management across the Group

  • Support in management reporting and KPIs

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a detail oriented accounting & finance professional with solid experience to perform in the role. What are we expecting of you:

  • 3-5 years of working experience in auditing and/or controlling

  • Familiarity with SaaS business models and growth company culture

  • Strong understanding of Finnish Accounting Standards, relevant tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements

  • You’re a fluent Finnish speaker as financial statements, tax reporting etc. need to be carried out in Finnish

  • Experience in working in a multinational company

  • Solid organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities, and co-operate with the team to execute in a fast-paced environment

  • You’re comfortable using English daily in a work context

  • Experience in Netsuite is considered an advantage
