The Enterprise Applications Engineer - Great Plains will primarily be responsible for new implementations and the ongoing support of multiple Microsoft Dynamics GP databases throughout our various locations. This includes daily support, training, development of new reports, process flow, triage and correction of user issues as well as maintaining the Microsoft GP databases and third-party integrated applications, including, but not limited to, Dynamics GP ISV products, reporting and analytic solutions, budgeting and forecasting applications, and consolidation toolsets.

PRIMARY DUTIES:          

GP, New Implementations

  1. Assist with the migration of finance and accounting data from Legacy systems into new/existing Microsoft GP databases for new locations and the configuration of new GP companies
  2. Develop training materials and provide training to new users.
  3. Assist with the setup of new third-party integrations for new locations.
  4. Design and develop new reports for locations being onboarded.
  5. Provide support and assistance during implementation projects for the GP Solution.

GP, Ongoing Support

  1. Provide direct assistance to end-users and to embedded support staff
  2. Provide training to the end-users and to embedded support staff
  3. Identify issues and problems that cannot be resolved internally and escalate to the Manager, Dynamics GP.
  4. Develop, document, and maintain customizations using Modifier, Report Writer, VBA, Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting Services and T-SQL.

GP, Application Maintenance 

  1. Research, plan, test and deploy version updates, hot fixes and service pack updates. This includes all third-party GP applications.
  2. Deploy customizations and maintain change related records.
  3. Maintain integrity and quality of information stored in GP
  4. Manipulate GP Data when appropriate with T-SQL or other tools
  5. Perform maintenance procedures from within GP
  6. Maintain the security of the GP solution, MR (Management Reporter) and SQL Servers by ensuring access is appropriately defined
  7. Research and analyze suitable GP Integrated (third party) applications

 Financial Systems, Support and Maintenance

  1. End user support and training for related financial systems that may include consolidation, account reconciliation, budgeting, and forecasting applications.
  2. Deploy changes and maintain related records for other financial systems.
  3. Day to day application administration that may include dimension maintenance, security setup, data integration errors, and issue resolution.
  4. Assist in data profiling and ETL requirements where applicable.
  5. Develop reporting, data extraction, and analytics using the consolidation and budgeting applications or corporate data warehouse.
  6. Participate in implementation of other related systems that may occur from time to time.

 COMPETENCY:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP for financial management, accounting, and reporting, including multicurrency, domestic and international tax setup, intercompany, and GP module relationships
  • Extensive experience building reports using Management Reporter, SSRS, or similar reporting tools.
  • Experience with third party integration tools such as Smart Connect by eOne Solutions, Avalara Tax or similar, SmartList, and other Dynamics GP add-on products
  • Experience with Database Management, Database Monitoring, T-SQL - Transact-SQL, SQL - Structured Query Language.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Familiarity or exposure to consolidation, budgeting and forecasting, and data analytic applications and concepts.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 5 years of Great Plains experience required.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, required work hours may vary depending on business needs.

TRAVEL: Up to 20% travel may be required when needed.
