As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will build and own our automation infrastructure to increase our capacity to delight customers.

ROLE 👩🏽‍💻👨‍💻

As the first Senior Automation Engineer at Superhuman, you will own our automation strategy and infrastructure, ensuring seamless test integration into our development workflow. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining scalable, high-impact automated tests, optimizing our CI/CD pipelines, and driving a culture of quality across web, desktop, iOS, and Android.

This is a high-impact, strategic role, where you'll work as a player-coach, mentoring engineers while remaining hands-on in building cutting-edge automation solutions. Your success will be measured by your contribution to our remarkable quality and how much space you create—enabling engineers to focus on delivering value and allowing our manual QA team to prioritize delight-driven testing.

Your key responsibilities will include leading the migration to Playwright to build a robust and maintainable test suite, while designing and maintaining automated tests across web, desktop, and mobile platforms. You will integrate automated testing into our CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast and reliable feedback loops, and establish best practices for maintainability, scalability, and efficiency in test automation.

We expect you to be strategic in determining where to focus your efforts to improve the Superhuman experience for our users. Your decisions should be data-driven, based on deep product usage insights and thorough understanding of our platform.

As a quality champion, you will foster a culture of test ownership where engineers proactively develop and maintain their test automation. You'll partner closely with engineering, product, and delight teams to enhance user experiences, while leading quality best practices to ensure testing remains central to development.

SOUND LIKE YOU? 🙌

• Experience: You have at least 8 years of experience in engineering with at least 5 years of experience owning automation infrastructure. You have experience starting automation from the ground up and have contributing to a 0 to 1 automation project introducing automation to an organization that was not previously using it. Experience with mobile automation is a plus.
• Technical knowledge: You’re familiar with Java and Javascript and can write automated tests, as well as integrate automation platforms into CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Playwrite (or equivalent) is a plus!
• Leadership: You have experience leading automation efforts, single handedly driving projects, setting the technical strategy of test automation and advocating for testing.
• Excellent Communicator: You're able to communicate with stake holders and engineers and can lead by influence to engage engineers with automated testing
• Remarkable Quality: You focus on quality in all your work on an are excited to contribute to a culture of remarkable quality by crafting tests that look at ever detail, including being pixel perfect.
• Location: We're open to you joining us from a home office anywhere in LATAM.

SALARY INFO 💸

The Senior Automation Engineer role spans several internal levels and a wide breadth of experience at Superhuman. Our compensation band reflects the potentially broad range of candidates and experience levels that we are open to hiring for this role.

Our starting salaries for this role range from $100,000 - $150,000. The salary range does not reflect total compensation, which includes base salary, benefits, and company stock options.

We take a locally informed approach to compensation and will be able to share ranges based on your country of residence.
