POSITION PURPOSE

The Senior Manager, Human Resources operates as a strategic HR Business Partner and project lead working across the organization. Reporting to Head of HR, this role collaborates closely with HR and business leadership, serving as a critical link between HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) and the business units across all the HR disciplines including, but not limited to Talent Acquisition, Talent Development & Learning, Total Rewards and Facilities.

This role delivers both strategic and tactical HR support to associates and people leaders, at all stages of the associate lifecycle including onboarding, performance management, organizational design, learning and development, talent management, compensation programs and employee relations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a strategic HR business partner, giving strategic direction to business leaders to ensure the organization's effectiveness in achieving business objectives from a people perspective.

  • Provide a comprehensive and people-centric service, aligning both people management and business strategies focused on leadership, coaching and support.

  • Responsible for the quality and responsiveness of the overall delivery of all HR transactional services for the respective client group.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to associates at all levels, providing guidance and support on HR-related matters.

  • Responsible for coaching, advising, guiding, and instructing people leaders on HR processes and policies.

  • Provide expertise and guidance in all areas of HR, including strategic HR partnership with the department leaders to develop and execute both long-term and short-term HR strategies and initiatives that directly support and enable business objectives.

  • In partnership with HR colleagues, coach and support people leaders on YPO processes: performance calibration and management, talent development & learning, leadership development, succession planning, organizational design, compensation analysis and benefits, career pathing and guidance, and more. 

  • Facilitate talent development discussions amongst business leadership (e.g., talent review discussions, targeted individual development planning, nominations for development programs).

  • Support the on-boarding, transfers, and off-boarding process for associates in assigned client groups.

  • Facilitate the effective rollout of recurring, org-wide HR initiatives, including performance reviews, talent reviews/ assessments and succession planning, and engagement surveys.

  • Collaborate across HR on the evaluation, creation, and socialization of YPO people programs and policies globally. This may include:

    • Assess current HR practices, programs and policies against best-in-class country practices, programs and policies.

    • Build recommendations to shore up gaps in current HR programs, policies, or practices.

    • Manage the documentation and ongoing review of approved practices, programs and policies including country specific handbooks.

    • Lead communications on people practices across the client groups supported to ensure the local culture, communication style is conveyed with care and clarity.

  • Provide extensive employee relations (ER) advice and facilitate the handling of ER matters, including issues such as policy violations, performance issues, accommodations, job eliminations, etc. Close liaison with Legal Counsel and executive management with robust analysis for involuntary terminations.

  • Manage headcount and compensation budget in partnership with Head of Finance.

  • Guide and support managers and employees through change management including effectively communicating changes, addressing concerns, and fostering positive attitudes towards change.

  • Keep up with trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, and employment law.

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

  • 10+ years of experience in human resources, with at least 5+ years as an HR Business Partner in a global role.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of global HR employment law, regulations, compliance, and practices.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field. Masters’ degree in HR, OD, Org. Behavior or MBA preferred.

  • CIPD, PHR or SPHR or other HR certification highly desirable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed to accommodate members and team members in multiple time zones.

  • Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally, without restrictions, approximately 5% -10% per year.
