Summary of Job Duties:
The Lead Application Systems Analyst supports EMR Services. Works with little to no supervision, exercising appropriate judgment and operational considerations. Supports system applications, primarily CPOE, ClinDoc, Stork, and ASAP. Exhibits expert knowledge and proficiency on overall software functionality and integration.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Clinical, healthcare, Business, IT or related field with 4 years IT experience or clinical/operational experience or any combination of the two, including 1 year managing process and/or application -OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical, healthcare, Business, IT or related field with 6 years IT experience or clinical/operational experience or any combination of the two, including 1 year managing process and/or application -OR
  • Associate's Degree in Clinical, healthcare, Business, IT or related field with 8 years IT experience or clinical/operational experience or any combination of the two, including 1 year managing process and/or application -OR
  • High School Diploma/GED with 10 years IT experience or clinical/operational experience or any combination of the two, including 1 year managing process and/or application.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Licenses, Certificates, or Registration:

  • CPOE and ClinDoc - In accordance with IT Epic Certification Policy, must be certified in above application(s) or obtain certification within 90 days (per application) of the date of the last required class to be eligible for certification.

  • Associate's Degree or progressively higher degree
  • IT experience plus Clinical or Operational experience.


Additional Information:

  • Responsible for supervising and participating in the team’s work and distribution of responsibilities related to system build, testing, implementation support and maintenance of assigned Epic applications, ensuring that service level agreements and deadlines are met.  
  • Communicates team performance to upper management and provides feedback on team member evaluations.  
  • Performs in-depth analysis, trouble shooting, data collection, and root cause analysis and then identifies and/or implements potential solutions for issues related to the system or usage of it.
  • Analyzes/reviews and tests each product release and communicates needed changes to operations.  Must be able to document, follow and enforce change control procedures for the system.
  • Drives and facilitates coordination of efforts required from analysts, system vendors and operations to ensure that system integrity is maintained and that IT deliverables meet operational business needs.  
  • Researches, analyzes, facilitates and implements business and system workflows in order to expedite process improvement and coordinate business practices. Identifies best practices and implements opportunities for standardization.  
  • Prepares activity and other reports as necessary.  
  • Attains necessary certifications, as applicable, in a timely manner according to policy.
  • Provides On-Call support for application.  
  • As team leader, provides procedural and technical guidance and supervision to team members.
