Job description

We're building a new healthcare clearinghouse

In the healthcare sector, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) requires that all insurance payers exchange transactions such as claims, eligibility checks, prior authorizations, and remittances using a standardized EDI format called X12 HIPAA. A small group of legacy clearinghouses process the majority of these transactions, offering consolidated connectivity to carriers and providers.

Stedi is building the world’s only API-first clearinghouse. By offering modern API interfaces alongside traditional real-time and batch EDI processes, we enable both healthcare technology businesses and established players to exchange mission-critical transactions.

Stedi has lightning in a bottle: engineers and designers shipping products week in and week out; a lean business team supporting the company’s infrastructure; passion for automation and eliminating toil; $92 million in funding from top investors like Stripe, Addition, USV, Bloomberg Beta, First Round Capital, and more.

What we are looking for

We are looking to hire our first Technical Product Marketer. As a Technical Product Marketer at Stedi, you will own marketing strategy, positioning, and content for our API-first healthcare clearinghouse. Your job is to make Stedi impossible to ignore in the healthcare technology space through compelling storytelling, product evangelism, and relentless execution. You’ll work hand-in-hand with growth, product, design, and engineering to drive awareness and adoption of Stedi’s APIs and services.

Your mission is simple: craft and create content that positions Stedi as the go-to clearinghouse for technical audiences at digital health, revenue cycle management, and healthcare IT companies looking to modernize.

What you’ll do
  • Project manage the entire stedi.com marketing website ensuring that it is not only an accurate reflection of our brand, positioning, and product surface area, but it is a world-class site.

  • Produce high-quality content geared toward modern tech companies and engineers; publish content weekly on all marketing channels including Stedi’s blog, social media accounts, customer references page, and third-party sites.

  • Manage the product launch lifecycle, including launch announcements, changelogs, broadcasts to customers, email distribution lists, social, video demos, and more.

  • Conduct research on payer and product-specific nuances to create content that people want to read. This will generate leads from our ideal customer profiles across digital health, revenue cycle management, and more traditional healthcare IT organizations looking to modernize.

  • Tell customer stories through case studies, quotes, and webinars.

  • Elevate Stedi’s market presence through conference and industry event support.

  • Ensure brand quality and consistency across all marketing communications.

Who you are
  • You are first and foremost a writer. You love to write and communicate in all forms. Whether it’s website copy, blog posts, tweets, or press releases, you have a knack for writing. You love to tell a compelling story.

  • You are a technologist. You have 3+ years working at companies that primarily sell to a technical audience. You don’t just take requirements from products and churn out written content; you use the products and services that you write about. A background in engineering and product management is a plus.

  • You are excited to see how AI products can be used. You are not interested in churning out SEO rich content that no one wants to read, but you want to use AI tools like OpenAI Deep Research to conduct market research and write compelling stories customers want to read. You understand that “engineering as marketing” is the way to appeal to our audience.

  • You have healthcare experience. You understand the healthcare industry and who the primary players are in the market. Bonus if you have experience with data standards like X12 EDI, FHIR, HL7, or come from revenue cycle management.

  • You do what it takes to get the job done. You are resourceful, self-motivating, self-disciplined, and don’t wait to be told what to do. You can manage your own pipeline of work and can set your own priorities. You put in the hours.

  • You move quickly. We move quickly as an organization. This requires an ability to match our pace and not get lost by responding with urgency (both externally to payers and internally to stakeholders), communicating what you are working on, and proactively asking for help or feedback when you need it.

  • You are a “bottom feeder”. You thrive on the detail. No task is too small in order to find success, generate revenue, and improve our costs.

At Stedi, we're looking for people who are deeply curious and aligned to our ways of working. You're encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn't perfectly match the job description.
