Job description

Tava’s creative department (on the marketing side of things) needs some help! We’re looking for a graphic designer who is hungry to work on a wide array of projects, help Tava with day-to-day production, and build out their portfolio in the process.

This would include any and all creative assets distributed by Tava, with a priority on external-facing needs such as:

  • content and accompanying imagery (think: blog, resources, thumbnails)
  • website updates (Webflow experience a plus but not required)
  • email design (HTML/CSS basics a plus but not required)
  • slide decks
  • worksheets, guides, and docs
  • social media visuals
  • digital ads
  • tradeshow materials
  • printed items (i.e. direct mail, posters, flyers)

and also internal needs:

  • templates for all departments to use
  • internal decks and document clean-up
  • employee swag

Our company and team are growing, along with our care network and product offering. Having another designer on the marketing side will allow us to get more projects out the door while maintaining a level of quality representative of the mental health services we enable.

Another key component will be building out assets that our colleagues will be able to freely duplicate and adjust when necessary: think Google slide decks, InDesign projects, and even Canva templates. We cook from scratch here, but it helps to empower others with a recipe and ingredients when our capacity is full.

Requirements

Non-negotiables:

  • Proficient in: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Figma, Google Slides
  • Experience managing tasks digitally
  • Passion for detail-oriented design: composition, typography, layout
  • Basics of photo editing
  • Illustration experience a plus (not required)

We’re hoping to find an individual with a detail-oriented approach: you love setting type, ensuring press-quality standards for print, and already understand the basics of hierarchy and layout. You are adept in Figma, but also know the ins and outs of Adobe apps like InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

If you don’t have a breadth of experience, that’s fine! We’re here to help you learn and grow while contributing to the company and marketing team at the same time. We do ask that you provide a few design samples you’re proud of, whether that’s in the form of an online portfolio, or just a collection of original projects you’ve created. Ideally, they’re reflective of the types of projects listed above. But anything showcasing your skillset and taste is great!

Bonus points if: you find joy in organizing, consolidating, and cleaning up stuff! We won’t name names, but some of us are too busy making things to retroactively tidy up all of our files and artboards. (Okay, fine…it’s the person writing this). Hugely helpful if you take pride in the process of managing components, updating libraries, and generally making it easier for others to find things!
