JOB SUMMARY
The Veteran Service Representative is responsible for coordinating incoming Veteran Affairs (VA) Community Care Network (CCN) Authorizations, verifying Veteran coverage, and securing VA CCN authorization for services to be rendered. This individual assures accurate and timely entry into the organization for the purpose of Veteran referral and authorization for services. The Veteran Service Representative gathers and correctly analyzes multiple pieces of data to accurately process authorization while providing excellent service to Veterans, providers, external facilities, and the organization.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Successful completion of post-secondary courses in Medical Terminology and Diagnosis and CPT Coding, and Anatomy & Physiology. Graduate of a Medical Assistant, Health Unit Coordinator, or Health Care Business Service program.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Two years’ experience in a medical business office or healthcare setting involving customer service or patient-facing responsibilities, or equivalent experience.
