Job description

The mission of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.

The ideal candidate will have a strong compensation skill set, including experience with job and salary analysis. Proficiency in Excel and experience with compensation to include salary offers are preferred, as you will be responsible for providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic compensation decisions.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Client Support Acts as primary representative to designated clients on compensation issues including policy/procedure interpretation, job analysis and evaluation and salary analysis. Develops recommendations and implements job, salary and pay changes based on individual job markets and business needs. Designs, recommends and provides ongoing program support to incentive, award, competency and skill-based pay plans.

Analysis Conducts extensive qualitative and quantitative analysis on specific jobs to include market analysis, cost/benefit analysis, regulatory compliance and organizational impact.

Compliance Interprets federal and state acts, statues and regulations on wage and salary issues, and recommends policy, procedure and structural changes as appropriate on an institutional, departmental, and individual basis.

Program Support/Management Participates in technical planning and implementation for compensation programs including proposal, plan of action, timeline, recommendation and presentation. Contributes to planning and implementation of programmatic changes on the classified compensation program.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.

Preferred Education: Master's Level Degree

Certification: None

Preferred Certification: Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) from World at Work

Experience: Five years of professional human resources experience to include two years experience in compensation program design, development, modeling, implementation and/or administration. With preferred degree, three years of professional human resources experience to include two years experience in compensation program design, development, modeling, implementation and/or administration.

Preferred Experience: With preferred degree, three years of professional human resources experience to include two years experience in compensation program design, development, modeling, implementation and/or administration.
