About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Underwriting Escalation Specialist to join our underwriting team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and resolving complex underwriting issues that require escalation. You will collaborate closely with underwriters, Field force, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate decision-making, enhancing our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Handle escalated underwriting cases, analyzing complex risk scenarios and determining appropriate resolutions
Collaborate with underwriters and other departments to gather necessary information and facilitate informed decision-making
Review and assess underwriting submissions, providing expert guidance and recommendations
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to streamline the escalation process
Identify trends in escalated cases and provide feedback for process improvements to enhance efficiency
Prepare detailed reports on escalated issues, including outcomes and recommendations for future prevention
Stay updated on industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices to ensure compliance in all underwriting activities
Assist in training and mentoring junior underwriters on escalation procedures and best practices

Qualifications and Skills:

3+ years of experience as a Sr underwriting or related roles within the insurance industry
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make sound decisions under pressure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse teams
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficient in underwriting software and Google Suite

The US national base salary range for this full-time position is $95,000 -$155,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
