Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits, identify quality issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Analyze quality data, provide actionable insights, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive design improvements, quality enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop and execute validation protocols, testing plans, and quality assurance processes to ensure outsourced products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Ensure thorough documentation, validation, and compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining detailed records for traceability and reporting.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, providing guidance on quality expectations and conducting training sessions.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects to optimize product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Drive communication and collaboration between internal teams, CMs, and suppliers to ensure transparent updates, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the quality of the product development, prototyping, NPI builds and provide regular updates.
  • Investigate and optimize product development, conducting onsite meetings, troubleshooting, and budget/BOM reviews as needed.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure product material compliance and certification (e.g., ROHS, REACH, Prop65, FCC, CE, KCC) and timely report releases.
  • Collaborate with TPM to conduct NPI builds sample inspections; partner with CMs for product reliability tests.
  • Work with third party labs to track material compliance and certification regulation changes, training CMs as needed.
  • Define and implement ongoing reliability tests (ORT) and train QC or third party inspection teams for mass production product inspections.
  • Collaborate with TPM to handle project handovers and training and to resolve top issues during MP ramp-up.
  • Provide regular updates on work via project management tools and drive communication between internal teams, CMs, and suppliers.

Requirements

Location & Language

  • Located and authorized to work in China.
  • Residency within or local to Dongguan or Shenzhen.
  • Professional fluency in English and Mandarin.

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in quality validation, preferably in a manufacturing or product development environment in consumer electronics.
  • Previous experience in leading quality assurance projects, developing validation protocols, and testing plans.

Education & Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Certification in Six Sigma or Quality Engineering is highly desirable.

Job Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of plastic and metal tooling design, injection molding, and surface treatments.
  • Familiarity with mechanical engineering, electrical hardware engineering, and plastic part manufacturing methods (e.g., keyboards, headphones, Bluetooth, noise cancellation).
  • Knowledge of regulatory agency requirements for electronic products (e.g., CE, FCC, ISO 9001, ISO 13485).
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, TQM).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex quality challenges effectively and efficiently; ability to develop effective solutions; 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a systematic approach to ensuring product quality throughout the design and production processes.
  • Strong  communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with suppliers, engineers, and management; adept at conveying technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements and deadlines.

  • Ability to travel regularly to manufacturers, with visits to Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia as needed.
